Kendriya Vidyalaya, Koliwada

Kendriya Vidyalaya Koliwade Mumbai is a co-educational school affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). KV Koliwade started its first batch in the year 1976 under the guidance of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), an autonomous body working under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. This Vidyalaya comes under the category of one of the oldest and biggest schools in Mumbai region. 

Kendriya Vidyalaya Koliwade began with just one section in each class up to the secondary level. Now the school has expanded to 4 sections till secondary level and 3 sections in senior secondary level classes (two streams i.e. Science and Commerce). Currently, more than 1700 students are enrolled in Kendriya Vidyalaya Koliwade. Students sit for Class X and Class XII exams every year in the month of March.

Kendriya Vidyalayas were opened basically to provide quality education to the central government employee children but it also covers transferable state government employees, defence, para-military and local people living in that area children.
