Kendriya Vidyalaya admissions are held as per the guidelines and specifications laid down by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. The KVS admission form will be released in April 2025. However, the KVS Class 1 admission forms 2025 will be made available in online mode, whereas, for classes 2 to 12 (except Class 11), admission forms will be made available in offline mode. Students seeking admission to KV schools are allowed to apply online on the official website, kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in.
The Class 1 admissions at Kendriya Vidyalaya schools are based on an online lottery and priority category system. Kendriya Vidyalaya admissions 2025 for classes 2 to 8 will be granted as per a priority category system and an offline lottery system. There will be no written test or exam for it. Parents/students also have to submit the required official documents along with the Kendriya Vidyalaya admission form 2025 to get KV admissions 2025 in Class 1 and above.

The children of Indian nationals can apply for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2025.
The children of Foreign Nationals who are located in India for any reason are also eligible for KVS admission in 2025.
The minimum and maximum age limit for Kendriya Vidyalaya admission in various classes is given in the table below (A child born on 1st April is also to be considered).

Note: The maximum age limit can be relaxed by two years in case of differently abled children by the principal.
There is no age restriction for KV Class 11 admission provided the student is seeking admission in the year of passing the Class 10 examination.
There will be no upper & lower age limit for admission to KVS Class 12 provided there is no break in the continuous study of the student after passing Class 11.
Follow the given below steps to fill the KV admission form 2025 for Class 1 in online mode:
Visit Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan’s official website, kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in.
Click on 'New Registration’.
Fill in the asked details such as student's name, Parents/Guardian's name, Date of Birth, address, etc
Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
After registering successfully, a unique login code will be provided.
Select the KV's from the given list of schools. You can choose up to 3 schools from the given list.
Now fill in the remaining details of the KV application form for 2025.
Upload the required documents such as the student's photograph, birth certificate, etc.
Submit the admission form and click on the preview tab.
Check all the details carefully and make sure all details are mentioned correctly before the final submission of the KVS admission form 2025.
Once the application form is submitted successfully, a unique application submission code will be assigned, which is different from the login code.
The application will not be submitted until the application submission code is generated from the online admission portal. Make sure to keep the application code carefully, as this will be needed during admission.

A scanned copy of the child’s birth certificate
Scanned copy of caste certificate (if seeking reservation under quota system)
Transfer details of parents/grandparents whose service credentials will be used in the application.
Residence certificate
EWS/BPL certificate
Service certificate of the employee (if applicable)
Proof of the relationship of the child's parents with grandparents
A certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees.
Disability certificate from a civil surgeon or rehabilitation centre (if required). The candidate can also be accepted without a certificate if the principal can visually see the handicap of the child.
The process of filling KVS admission forms for Class 2 and above is quite different. Follow the below-given steps to avoid any inconvenience.
Students and parents have to collect KV admission form 2025 for Class 2 and above from the office of the respective KV school.
Fill out the Kendriya Vidyalaya application form 2025 very carefully and neatly.
Attach all the necessary documents required for KV admission along with a photograph of the student.
Now submit the Kendriya Vidyalaya admission 2025 form in the respective school premises.
The following sequence is adopted for the fresh admissions to Class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalayas. Students who are between the ages of 6 to 8 as of March 31 in the academic year in which admission is sought for Class I can apply for KVS admission. Along with this, they should be national of India.
Admission test is not conducted for admission to KV classes 2 to 8.
Admissions are granted based on the Priority category system.
If applications are more than the number of seats, a lottery system will be followed in each category including single girl child quota (Class 6 onwards).
For admission to KVS Class 9, an admission test is conducted for Hindi, English, Maths, Social Science and Science.
The test duration is of 3 hours and 20 marks are allotted for each subject in the admission test.
The final merit list will be prepared for each category of priority separately. Admission is granted in the sequence of priority categories, in the order of merit.
Candidates must secure 33% marks in aggregate to qualify. Students belonging to SC/ST/Divyang category (PH) will be eligible for admission on securing 25% in aggregate.
The Class 11 KV admissions in different streams, Science, Commerce and Arts are based on merit as per the availability of seats in a stream. Stream is allotted based on marks obtained in the Class 10 board examination. There is no age restriction for Class 11 admission.
The KVS also offers reservations for different categories of students such as Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribes, Differently abled students, and economically weaker sections of society (EWS). The reservation percentage is mentioned in the table below:

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan admissions are done on the basis of the Priority category system as mentioned below:
