Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Form 2019 - Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) released the KV admission form 2019 for class 1 on March 1, 2019 in the online mode. The last date to register and fill the Kendriya Vidyalaya admission form for class 1 was March 19, 2019. Parents were required to visit the official link provided below, read the instructions provided and fill the KVS admission form 2019. It should be noted that KVS admission form 2019 for class 2 onwards was made available from April 2 to April 9, 2019 in the offline mode. Kendriya Vidyalaya admission 2019 to classes 2 to 12 are done on the basis of seats available. Students who desire to get admission in class 11 must note that the Kendriya Vidyalaya admission form 2019 for class 11 will release immediately after the declaration of class 10 board result. Students need to fill KV admission form 2019 within 10 days thereafter.
Admissions in KV class 1 is done through a lottery draw for the 25.5% reserved seats under Right to Education. Admission in KV class 9 is done through an entrance exam, after which a merit list is released (subject to vacancy of seats). Kendriya Vidyalaya admission for classes 2 to 12 depends on the number of vacant seats out of the total number of seats per class. How to fill Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Form 2019

KVS admission form are made available in online mode for class 1. For classes 2 and above the KV admission form 2019 are available offline. Here are the steps to fill the Kendriya Vidyalaya 2019 admission form. Follow the steps given below to successfully submit it.


Steps to fill KVS admission form 2019 for class 1

  • Click on the official link provided on this page.
  • A new window will open on the screen
  • Click on ‘New Registration’
  • Now, click on ‘Back to registrations page’ and go through the instructions provided carefully.
  • Go through the instructions carefully, check the box provided and click on Proceed
  • Fill in the name, date-of-birth, a valid mobile number and email id to register. In case a child is differently-abled, a separate document will have to be attached for the same.
  • Enter the captcha code and click on Submit
  • Registration for KVS admission to class 1 will now be completed. The screen will display the registration details which includes the registration ID, email ID, child’s name and date-of-birth.
  • Download and save the page
  • Take a printout and keep it safe for future reference

Steps to fill Kendriya Vidyalaya admission form 2019 for classes 2 and above

Step 1: Admission forms are made available by the principal at Free of cost.

Step 2: Candidates need to collect admission form from their respective school authority. 

Step 3: Fill all the fields appropriately.

Step 4: Attach all the necessary documents mentioned below. 

Step 5: Now, Submit the form to concerned Vidyalaya before the last date as mentioned in the table above.

Documents Required to be attached with KVS Admission Form 2019

  • A printout of the application form with one photograph of the candidate.

  • For Class 1, the birth certificate is required as a proof of the age of children. It should be issued from a competent authority to register births.

  • For other classes, Transfer certificate mentioning the date of birth is required, issued by a school recognized by the State Education Department. 

  • The original certificate of date of birth is needed for verification which will be returned to parents after that.

  • A certificate is required who specify that the child belongs to SC/ST/EWS/OBC and BPL categories, issued by a state or union government.

  • Handicapped candidates are required a certificate from a civil surgeon or rehabilitation centre. The candidate can be also accepted without a certificate if the handicap of the child can be visually seen by the principal.

  • A certificate of retirement for uniformed defence employees.

  • Proof of residence.


Admission process of Kendriya Vidyalaya for Class I

Below is the complete admission process of class 1 in Kendriya Vidyalaya, broken down in steps. Students can go through the complete process to gain information on how to gain admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya 2019:

1) There will be around 40 seats available for admission in each KV.

2) There will be a reservation of 15% for SC candidates and 75% for ST candidates.

3) First Phase: Around 25% seats per section per class will be reserved for admission of candidates from SC, ST, EWS,BPL, OBC (non-creamy layer) students.

4) Admissions in the first phase will be done on the basis of a lottery draw of application forms of candidates.

5) Second Phase: Admissions in the second phase will be done on priority category system.

Admission to Kendriya Vidyalaya for Classes 2 to 8 

  • There will no admission test for admission to Class II to VIII.
  • Admission is granted on the basis of the priority category system.
  • if applicants are more than the number of seats available, then seat allotment will be done on the basis of the lottery system in each category including single girl child quota (class VI onwards).

For class 9

  • Admissions in class 9 is done on the basis of an admission test. 
  • The result of the admission tests is released in the form of a merit list. 
  • There will be only a single admission test which will be conducted for Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science subjects. 
  • The test is of a duration of 3 hours and for a total of 100 marks. 
  • Each of the five sections will have a weightage of 20 marks in the KV admission exam 2019. 
  • Students have to score at least 33% marks in average to qualify. Students belonging from SC, ST and Physically Handicapped (PH) categories can get admissions if they have a 25% marks in average.

Class XI admission method in Kendriya Vidyalaya

  • Vidyalayas provide admission to KV students in class 11 after the declaration of result.
  • Admissions of KV students in class 11 will be done on the basis of their class 10 board scores. Students should have the following marks for admission in different streams:

Note: If two or more candidates obtains equal marks in aggregate, the admission of such candidates will be conducted as follows:

  1. Candidate with higher marks in Maths will get precedence in admission.

  2. In case of two or more candidate with same marks in Maths, then the candidate with higher aggregate marks in Maths and Science will get priority.

  3. If two or more candidates getting the same marks in Maths and Science then an older student in age will be given precedence over others.

For Non KV Students admission method in class XI

  • If the seats remain vacant after the admission of KV students then the admissions to Non-KV students may be granted.
  • Admissions of Non-KV students is granted on the same criteria, in the sequence of categories of priority.

KV admission for Class 10 and 12

  • If strength in class 10 and 12 is below 40 then Admission may be granted to non-KV students. 

  • Such admissions will be considered by the Deputy Commissioner of the respective region. 

  • This will be the subject to the following conditions:

  • The candidate has been passed from a CBSE affiliated school. 

  • For Class 10: The candidate has obtained 55% marks in aggregate.

  • For Class 12: He/she should have an aggregate of 55% marks in class XI examinations.

  • The combination of subjects opted by the student are available in the campus of Kendriya Vidyalaya.

Know eligibility criteria before filling KV Admission Form 2019

  • A candidate must be of 5 years old as on March 31, 2019 for admission to class 1. 
  • The maximum and minimum age limit is given in the table below, which is required to fill KVS admission form 2019
  • The age should be as on March 31, 2019. KVS will also consider the children born on April 1, 2019.
  • Age relaxation: KVS is providing 2 years relaxation in maximum age limit for differently abled candidates, which is applicable with the recommendations of the principal.
  • Class 11 and 12: There will be no age restrictions for the candidates who wish to get admission in class 11 and 12. Candidates will have to apply for admission without any break in the continuous study.

Priority Category System

KV authorities have a priority category system to discern the prioritisation of students for Kendriya Vidyalaya admissions 2019. Check the parameters for the priority category system below:

1) First priority is given to the children of transferable and non-transferable central government personnel or ex-servicemen. This also includes children of foreign national officials, which have come on deputation or transfer to India on invitation by the Government of India.

2) Second priority is given to the children of transferable and non-transferable personnel of Autonomous Bodies, Public sector undertaking or Institute of Higher Learning of the Government of India.

3) Third priority: Following the suit, third priority is given to the children of transferable and non-transferable State Government personnel.

4) Fourth priority is given to the children of transferable and non-transferable personnel of Autonomous Bodies, Public sector undertaking or Institute of Higher Learning of the State Governments.

5) Fifth priority is given to the children from any other category, including the children of foreign nationals who are located in India due to their work or for any personal reasons. These candidates will be considered only if there is no Indian National candidate waitlisted for admission.
