IMO Result 2018 – Science Olympiads foundation (SOF) will release the result of SOF IMO 2018 Level 2 in the second week of March, 2019 in the online mode. The IMO 2018 level 2 exam was conducted on February 9/10 between 2-3 pm. The foundation declared the result of IMO for level 1 exam on January 14 and the cutoff on January 10, 2019. Students can check the same from the table given below. Those who appeared for the SOF IMO level 1 exam on December 4, 13 and 18, 2018 can check the IMO result level 1 by entering their roll number in the specified format. Students who qualify the score as per IMO cut off 2018 are eligible for the Level 2 exam. SOF IMO result 2018 will also be sent to respective schools along with detailed Student Performance Report (SPR) for each participating student. SPR contains a detailed analysis of how well a child performed in different sections of the exam. Apart from the result and SPR, a participation certificate is also given to each student. Class Toppers are awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. 

Students of class 1 and 2 who clear the IMO exam will be ranked on the basis of their performance in level 1 of the exam. Those from class 3 to 12 whose names appear in IMO 2018 result will have to appear for the level 2 exam. How to check IMO result 2018?

Students can either obtain the result from school authorities along with Student Performance Report (SPR) or could check the result of IMO in online mode by following the steps given below:

  • Click on the link IMO Result 2018. (Link is given above)

  • A new window will open, enter your roll no. in the specified format ' school code - class - section - roll number'.

  • Answer the security Math question and click on ‘View Results’

  • Students result with details regarding score, qualified for level 2 or not will appear.

  • Save the SOF IMO result 2018 or take a print out and keep the hard copy safe for future reference.

What is SPR?

 SPR stands for Student Performance Report, given along with the IMO result 2018. It is the detailed analysis of a student’s performance in Level 1 of IMO exam 2018-19. SPR is aimed at analysing a students strengths and areas for improvement. SPR consists of six sections as mentioned below:

provides the student’s marks and rank achieved in School / City / Zone / at international level

Section B

provides a section-wise performance score of the student

Section C

provides correct answers to questions asked in the Olympiad exam, the answers given by the student and performance comparison of the student’s answers vs other students in the Zone and at the international level

Section D

provides a percentage score analysis of the student with a comparison with the Class, City, Zone and international level

Section E

provides a comparison of average marks analysis at the School, City, Zone and international level

Section F

provides a comparison of the student’s performance in the Olympiad exams during the past 8 years

IMO Answer Key 2018

SOF has released the answer key of IMO 2018 on December 27, 31, 2018 and January 3, 2019, in online mode. The IMO answer key 2018 for all the sets(a, b and c) mention the correct answers for the questions asked. Students can use it to calculate a probable score and know weather qualified for level 2 exam of IMO 2018.

IMO 2018 Level 2 - Ranking Criteria

Students who will satisfy any of the below-mentioned criteria will be selected to appear for the second level IMO exam: 

Criteria 1: Candidates of each class securing the top 5% rank in the first level. Marks scored in each section of the exam will be taken into account.

Criteria 2: Top 25 rank holders from each class in each zone.

Criteria 3: Class topper from each participating school who obtains 50% marks in SOF IMO 2018 level 1. In case registration is done section-wise, irrespective of the section, candidates scoring the highest marks will be eligible for the second level exam. It is to be noted that a winner of the gold medal is not necessarily eligible for IMO 2018, level - 2. 

Note: In case of a clash in the marks or rank, priority is given to Achiever's section followed by Mathematical reasoning, Everday mathematics and logical reasoning. 

What after IMO Result 2018 Level 1?

Students of class 1, 2 will be ranked on the basis their performance in the IMO 2018 exam while those in class 3 to 12 who qualify for Level 2 can start preparing for the level 2 exam. Moreover, they can also work on their weak areas as indicated in SPR analysis. They can check their ranking classwise and zones.

 IMO Awards/ Scholarships

  • Each student will get a Participation Certificate.

  • Level 2 participants will get Merit Certificate.

  • Awards for class 1 and 2 will be provided to Level 1 winners.

  • Level 2 winners will be given International and Zonal Topper Awards

  • An amount of Rs.16 Crores will be spent by SOF on Scholarships, awards, felicitations, gifts etc.

IMO FAQ's

1) When is the IMO result 2018 declared?

Ans - Result of Olympiad is declared within 8 weeks of the conduction of the examination. The results are sent to the schools concerned. The results are also made available on the SOF website and the link for the same is also given above.

2) What if a student has cleared the second level of the Olympiad and is eligible for an award. But that student is studying in a different school / passed out from school and pursuing further studies. Will he/ she come to know about the date?

Ans - As soon as SOF finalizes the date and venue of the presentation ceremony, they send out the information to the schools concerned and also share the dates on their website www.sofworld.org or on their facebook page www.facebook.com/sofworld. So the student is advised to be in touch with their previous school or/and access SOF website regularly. 

3) If a student has still not received his/ her Roll No. / Admit Card / Participation Certificate, the school authorities also not in receipt of the same. What can be done in such a case?

Ans - A student is advised to request their school Principal / Mathematics Teacher to inform SOF about the non-receipt of the above. They will send duplicate copies to the school as soon as possible.
