The Council of Higher Secondary Education, (CHSE) announces the Odisha CHSE exam pattern 2025-26 for subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and English. The CHSE new exam pattern applies to the regular students of Arts, Science, Commerce & Vocational Streams appearing from the Odisha 12th examinations 2026. The CHSE exam pattern comprises multiple choice questions, very short answer questions, short answer questions, and long answer questions.

The allotted time for each subject varies between 2.5 to 3 hours, depending upon the specific subject. There is no provision for negative marking in the Odisha CHSE examination 2026. For subjects, the total marks available are 100, with 80 marks for theoretical assessments and 20 marks for practical evaluations. Students are required to achieve a minimum of 24 marks in the theory subjects, and practical marks will not contribute to the overall theory score.
Students will be tested using a new question format for the CHSE exam 2026. This applies to all subjects. For subjects with practical work or projects that are part of vocational training, the marks are divided into 50 for theory and 50 for practical.
For vocational trade subjects, it’s 40 marks for theory and 60 for practical. Other subjects with practical or project work might have different splits, like 70/30 or 80/20. For subjects without practical work, there will be an internal assessment worth 20 or 10 marks, along with a theory exam that is 80 or 40 marks.

For class 11th chse board Odisha internal exam pyqs you will have to get it from your school itself as at class 11 level that too for internal assessment the question papers vary across different schools.
You can ask your teachers, fellow classmates or even your senior for the same they will tell you the exact question paper source for your school.
If you could not appear for Class 12 in 2024 and plan to complete it in 2027 after restarting from Class 11, don’t worry. Gap years generally do not stop you from pursuing higher studies or appearing in competitive exams.
You can appear in Class 12 in 2027 without any problem.
The education board does not restrict students because of gap years, as long as you meet age and eligibility rules.
Most colleges accept students with gap years.
You may need to explain the reason for the gap during admission (financial, family issues).
Some colleges may ask for a gap certificate from a notary or school authority.
JEE allows candidates to appear in the year of passing 12th and the next two years . Example: If you pass in 2027, you can appear in JEE 2027, 2028, and 2029.
NEET has no restriction on the number of attempts , only the age limit (17–25 years for General category).
CUET and other exams accept candidates as long as they passed Class 12, regardless of gap years.
Focus on completing 11th and 12th with good marks.
Collect a gap certificate if required during admission.
Plan early for the entrance exam you want to target after Class 12.
