Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2019 - KV 2nd Admission list 2019-20 for class 1 has been released on April 9, 2019. The list can be checked on the official website of respective KVs. It can be seen on the notice board of the school too. The third admission list for admission to class 1 will be out on April 23, 2019 subject to availability of seats in class 1. The first admission list for admission to class 1 in KV was out on March 26, 2019. Check the link given below to know the lottery schedule for individual KV. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) had opened the KV registration window for admission to class 1 on March 1, 2019. The last date to apply was March 19, 2019. The registrations were done for class 1 students in online mode only, while the registrations for class 2 onwards (except class 11) were accepted in offline mode. As per the Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission schedule, the online registration for KVS admission 2019 for class 2 onwards (except class 11) began from April 2 and continued till April 9, 2019. Registration of KV for classes 2 and above were done only if vacancies exist. The KVS admission form for class 11 will be released immediately after the result of CBSE 10th subject to availability of seats in various Kendriya Vidyalayas.

For KV admission 2019 class 1, a lottery draw for the 25% reserved seats under RTE (Right to Education) was conducted in the first phase. In the second phase, the remaining seats are filled as per the existing priority category system. For Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2019 to classes 2 to 8, the selection of students is based on Priority category system or lottery system for students in each category. Admission to KVS class 9 is done through an admission test, following which a merit list is released.

Important points related to the Age limit of KV admissions

  • A child born on 1st April should also be considered.
  • For differently abled candidates, the maximum age limit is relaxable for two years by the Principal.
  • No restrictions on the age of class XI students if they are seeking for admission in the year of passing class 10th examinations.

KV Admission Seat Allotment 2019

There is a fixed quota of 40 seats per class for KV admission each year. This quota can be pushed to a limit of 55 in the case of transfer students. For class 10, and class 12, the number of seats offered for admission depends upon the number of seats vacant.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission Form

How to Register for KV Admissions Online 2019?

Follow the steps provided below to apply for Kendriya Vidyalaya admission for 2019-20.

  • Go to the official online registration site of KVS (Site

  • Click on 'New Registration' button.

  • Click on 'back to instructions', read carefully and enable the checkbox provided in the end.

  • Click on the “Proceed” button.

  • It will lead to a registration window.

  • You will be asked to fill the Name of Child, DOB, E-mail Id, Mobile Number and other details in the designated columns.

  • Fill the form properly, recheck the information filled

  • Enter the captcha as shown and submit the Form by clicking on the link 'register'.

Students are advised to print a hard copy of the registration form and keep it with themselves for future references. 

Documents required for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2019

Students seeking admission in Kendriya Vidyalaya schools must carry the following documents for the registration process.

  • For Class 1- Certified Birth Certificate from Notified Area Council/ Municipality/ Municipality Corporation.Residence Proof.

  • For children of Central/ State government employees, ex-servicemen- a proof of relationship with parents, and a certificate showing the number of transfer during the past 7 years.

  • For SC, ST, and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), BPL (Below Poverty Line)- Caste/category, BPL certificates issued by competent state authorities. 

  • For differently abled candidates, a certificate from the competent authority certifying handicap of the child, wherever applicable.

  • A certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees.

  • Proof of Residence.

KV Admission Process

The admission process of Kendriya Vidyalaya is different for class 1, 2 to 8, and classes 9, 10, 11, and 12. However, the priority category system, which is the priority order and the reserved seats under RTE are similarly applied to the admission process of each class. Class 1

Phase 1- Seat allotment for reserved categories through ‘Draw of Lots’. 10 seats will be alloted as per the reservation percentage provided previously. 

Phase 2- Allotment of 30 remaining seats through ‘Draw of Lots’ as per the priority category system.

Class 2 to 8

No admission test is conducted for classes 2 to 8. The allotment of seats is done through priority category allotment system.

Class 9

  • Process-An admission test will be conducted, after which a merit- list as per the priority order, and reservations under RTE.

  • Test Subjects: Hindi, English, Science, and Social Science.

  • Test duration: 3 hours

  • Marking Scheme- 100 marks, with 20 marks each for each subject of the exam.

  • The minimum qualifying percentage- 33%, and 25% for the reserved categories.

Class 10

Subject to vacancy and transfer.

Eligibility criteria-

  • Candidate must be from a CBSE affiliated school.

  • A minimum of 55% marks in class 9 exams.

Class 11

Through ‘Draw of Lots’. Based on the percentage of class 10.

Minimum percentage required:

  • Science- 60%

  • Commerce- 55%

  • Arts- Passing Grade

Class 12

Subject to vacancy and transfer.

Eligibility criteria-

  • Candidate must be from a CBSE affiliated school.
