The complete details of Kendriya Vidyalaya admissions 2025-26 will be published through the official website, kvsangathan.nic.in. The KV admission form-filling process 2025-26 will tentatively begin in the first week of April 2025.
Kendriya Vidyalaya conducts admissions for Class 1 in online mode only, whereas for Class 2 to 12th (except Class 11) admissions are conducted in offline mode.KVS admissions for Class 1 are based on an online lottery and priority category system.
Admission to Classes 2 to 8 is based on a priority category and an offline lottery system, with no tests or exams conducted. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has criteria for KV admissions 2025-26. Check KVS eligibility criteria before filling out the KV admission form. The eligibility criteria for admission to KVS 2025-26 are given below:
The children of Indian nationals can apply for Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2025.
The children of Foreign Nationals who are located in India for any reason are also eligible for KVS admission in 2025.

Note:
The maximum age limit can be relaxed by two years in the case of differently abled children by the principal.
There is no age restriction for KV Class 11 admission provided the student is seeking admission in the year of passing the Class 10 examination.
There will be no upper & lower age limit for admission to KVS Class 12 provided there is no break in the continuous study of the student after passing Class 11.
Parents/guardians of Class 1 students can fill out an online Kendriya Vidyalaya admission form on the official website, kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in. The KVS admission form can be submitted in online mode through the KVS online admission portal. The application submission process is mainly divided into two parts:
Registration for Kendriya Vidyalaya on - kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in
Filling in and submitting the admission form.
Below, we have given the KVS Class 1 admission process steps. Students can use these steps to complete their initial registration.
Go to the KVS online admission portal: kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in.
Click on the 'New Registration' button.
Read the instructions carefully and enable the checkbox of declaration, then click on proceed.
The KV registration window will open on the screen. Enter the name of a child, parent's name, date of birth, e-mail ID, mobile number and other details in the appropriate fields.
Enter the captcha code as shown and click on the 'Register' button.
An OTP will be sent to the entered mobile number. Enter the same and submit to confirm the contact details.
Login details will be shown on the screen. Note them down and keep them safe for further reference.
Students will be required to complete the KV form-filling process online. Here are some simple steps to fill out the KVS admission form 2025-26.
After completing the KVS registration on - kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in, click on the ‘Login’ tab given on the top bar and enter the login details generated during registration and the captcha code as shown.
Click on the ‘Login’ button.
Now, the KV online application form will open. Enter the basic information and personal details as asked.
Click on the ‘Next’ button to go to the next page of kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in 2025 form.
Select the KV's from the given list of schools. You can choose up to 3 schools from the given list.
Now fill in the remaining details of the KV application form for 2025.
Upload the required documents such as the student's photograph, birth certificate, etc.
Submit the admission form and click on the preview tab.
Check all the details carefully and make sure all details are mentioned correctly before the final submission of the KVS admission form 2025.
Once the application form is submitted successfully, a unique application submission code will be assigned, which is different from the login code.
Note: The application will not be submitted until the application submission code is generated from the online admission portal. Make sure to keep the application code carefully, as this will be needed during admission.

KV admissions are based on the priority of the applicant's category. The fixed preference order for Kendriya Vidyalaya admissions 2025 is as follows:

Note: In case two or more students have the same category for a seat, preference will be decided based on the number of transfers by the parents in the last 7 years.
Out of the total 40 seats in each class and in each Kendriya Vidyalaya School, 10 seats are reserved for SC, ST, and physically disabled category students. The detailed KV admission reservation system is given in the following table:

The KV admission process is different for Class 1, Class 2 to 8, and Class 9, 10, 11, and 12. However, the KV priority category system and the reserved seats under RTE are similar for each class. There will be no admission test for Class 1 KVS admissions 2025-26. The seats are filled as per the criteria explained below:
First Lot: In this phase, 10 seats out of 40 are filled as per RTE provision by drawing lots from all applications from SC/ST/EWS/BPL/OBC/differently-abled children.
Second Lot: Lottery for differently-abled students of SC/ST/OBCNCL/unreserved category as per priority category system.
Third Lot: The remaining seats for KV admission 2025 will be filled as per the existing priority category system of categories 1 and 2.
Fourth Lot: The shortfall in the seats reserved for SC/ST/OBC-NCL will be covered by admitting SC/ST/OBC-NCL students as per priorities of admission irrespective of the sanctioned strength.
Fifth Lot: If any seat is vacant, then priority category 3 onwards will be taken up for kvsonlineadmission.kvs.gov.in 2025 admission.
There will be no admission test for Class 2 to 8 KV admission 2025-26.
The seats are given to students as per the priority category allotment system.
In case the number of applications is more than the number of seats, then a lottery system will be followed in each category.
An admission test will be held for conducting Class 9 KV admissions, after which a merit list is prepared for each category separately.
The admission test comprises questions on Maths, Hindi, English, Science, and Social Science subjects.
The duration of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission test is 3 hours which carries 100 marks in total.
The minimum qualifying marks are 33% for general category students and 25% for reserved categories.
KV Admission in Class 11 in different streams will be given to the students as per their aggregate marks in Class 10 exams as mentioned below:

The KVS has tie-breaking criteria in case of equal marks. Check the below section to know more about this:
If two or more students have equal marks in class 10 then the inter-se-merit of such student will be decided on then, students with higher marks in Maths will be selected for Kendriya Vidyalaya admission.
If the tie continues, then Maths and Science marks will be considered and after that older candidates will be given preference.
If they have the same marks in Math and Science also, then the older student in age will be preferred for KVS admission.
After admitting KV students, if seats remain vacant then KV admissions can be granted to non-KV children as per the priority category system defined above.
If the strength of Class 10 or 12 is less than 40 in any KV then the Deputy Commissioner of the Region will open Class 10th and 12th KV admissions 2025-26 as per the availability of seats. These admissions will be provided based on the following conditions:
The child should be studying in a CBSE-affiliated school.
A student seeking Kendriya Vidyalaya Admission 2025 in class 10 or 12, must have scored an aggregate of 55% marks in Class 9 or Class 11 exams respectively.
The student will have to opt from the available combination of subjects in Kendriya Vidyalayas.
A committee is constituted at every Kendriya Vidyalaya to monitor the system of drawing lots.
This system is followed for KVS admission in Class 1 or other classes.
In case two or more students of a particular category have the same number of transfers, this system is followed to allot the seats.
There will be a total of 5 members in the committee as shown below and the 6th member can be nominated by the principal.
The fee structure of Kendriya Vidyalaya School includes admission, re-admission, computer, and seven other types of fees. The computer fee is applied from Class 3 onwards, and the Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi fee is applied to all classes. Find full KV fee details in the following table:

The online registration for KV Class 1 admission 2025 is likely to commence in the first week of April 2025.
In each KV, a total of 40 students are admitted in each section. However, the principal of the Vidyalaya can extend class strength up to 50 based on various provisions.
Yes, students of State Boards/ICSE/NIOS can apply for KVS admission 2025-26. Such students will be considered for admission if vacancies exist.
Yes, you can apply for the www.kvsangathan.nic.in 2025 admission by producing the transfer certificate of your parents. If you want to change KV due to some other reasons, you can contact your respective KV authority.
There is no fee to apply online for KVS admission 2025. The fee is to be paid after selection.
