IEO Exam 2026 – Dates, Registration, Syllabus, Sample Papers & Results
About IEO 2026
IEO 2026-27: SOF IEO exams are conducted at two levels. SOF IEO Level 1 is conducted for classes 1 to 12. Students can only register through their schools. SOF accepts no individual registration. Students who qualify for the level 1 can write the level 2 exam.
- The Science Olympiad Foundation will conduct the SOF IEO exam (Set A) for level 1 on September 30, 2026. The SOF IEO Set B exam will be held on October 27, 2026, while the Set C examination will be conducted on November 17, 2026.
- The exams will be held in offline mode for Classes 1 to 12.
- Students can collect the SOF IEO admit cards from their respective schools.
- The SOF will release the IEO answer key for Set A in October 2026, Set B in November 2026, and Set C in December 2026.
- The foundation will declare the IEO result 2026-27 for the level 1 in January 2027.
- Students can visit the official website at sofworld.org to access and download the IEO results.
- The SOF IEO cut-off scores will be released in January 2027 on the official website.
The following students will progress to level 2:
- The SOF IEO level 2 exam will be conducted in February 2027.
- The IEO results for level 2 will be announced in March 2027.
- The SOF IEO 2nd-level exams will be held for students from Classes 3rd to 12th.
- Class-wise top 5% of candidates, who appear in the 1st level exam. If there is a tie in marks, weightage will be given to the marks scored in different sections.
- Top 25 rank holders class-wise & zone-wise.
- Class toppers were at least 10 students from a class who appeared in the exam & scored 50% qualifying marks. If the registration is received section-wise, the top-rank holder will qualify for the 2nd level, irrespective of the section.

IEO Important Dates
IEO International English Olympiad (session 2026)
- Students need to enrol in a school to be eligible for the International English Olympiad 2026-27.
- Students cannot apply and appear in the Olympiad individually.
- School students have to take the IEO application form 2026-27 from their school's Principal, Vice-Principal or Teacher In-Charge.
- They must pay INR 170 as the registration fee.
- They are required to fill out the complete form and submit it to the school authorities along with the due fees.
To appear in SOF IEO 2026-27, students have to fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
- A student must be enrolled in a school registered with SOF.
- A student must be in or between classes 1 to 12 to be eligible for IEO 2026-27.
- A student must have submitted the filled application form along with the due fees.

Mock tests and sample papers are highly recommended to prepare for SOF IEO as they help the aspirant in figuring out the exam pattern, syllabus, standard of questions, etc. Practising sample papers also gives the aspirant a chance to do self-analysis. Practising sample papers and giving mock tests is very important to have a way of sure success for SOF IEO 2026-27.
To prepare for the SOF International English Olympiad 2026-27, students are advised to devote time to each section and practice as much as they can. Here are some preparation tips for SOF IEO 2026-27:
- Practice reading: In the reading comprehension section, candidates will have to spend quite a while reading large passages and answering questions. To have an edge over others, practice reading and comprehension from early on.
- Try to understand what the question is asking for: Questions in the IEO exam 2026 will be tricky, and you need to understand what the question is asking for, rather than beating around the bush. Especially in comprehension, being aware of what the question is asking goes a long way.
- Read plenty of books and newspapers in English: This tip will work on three levels. Firstly, reading will help you in comprehension by increasing your reading speed. Second, it will also help in your grammar section. And finally, reading the newspaper will help in your general knowledge too.
- Practice from sample papers: This point is highly advised by everyone who has taken the SOF IEO exam. If you seriously want to score well in IEO 2026, practising with sample papers and giving mock tests is very important.
- Study plan: You should make a study plan for IEO 2026, which incorporates all the above points. Study plans are important because they give your hard work the right direction and shuffle your areas of study so that you do not get bored easily.
The Science Olympiad Foundation will release the SOF IEO admit card for level 1 in August 2026. Candidates can visit the official website at sofworld.org to download the admit cards. The SOF IEO admit cards for level 1 will be distributed to schools by the school authorities. The foundation will release the SOF IEO level 2 admit cards in January 2027. The SOF IEO admit card includes important details, such as name, enrollment number and exam schedule, among others. Students must carry their admit card; otherwise, they won’t be allowed to sit for the SOF IEO exam 2026-27.
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) will release the IEO answer keys for Classes 1 to 12 Set A in October 2026. The Set B answer key will be released in November 2026, while Set C will be published in December 2026. The answer key will be made available online through the official website. Candidates can use the same to know the probable scores before the result. The SOF IEO answer key for Sets A, B, and C will be released on different dates. SOF does not release the answer key for IEO 2026 for the level 2 exams.
The SOF Foundation will declare the SOF IEO results 2026-27 for level 1 in January 2027. Students can check their IEO results by entering their roll number. They can access the SOF IEO results through the official website at sofworld.org. The SOF IEO 2026-27 result level 2 will be announced in March 2027.
- SOF Foundation will release the SOF IEO 2026-27 cutoff on its official website in January 2027.
- IEO cutoff 2026-27 will be released for Classes 3-12. Students who will be able to qualify will appear in the second level of the IEO exam 2026.
- Students can refer to the cutoff and match their scores to know if they will be able to qualify for the SOF IEO 2026 exam.
- In the event of multiple students achieving the same total marks, their section-wise scores will be taken into consideration to determine qualifiers for the second level.
