IMO Exam 2026-27 - The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducts the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) for students of classes 1 to 12. Students' knowledge of logical reasoning, mathematical reasoning, and everyday mathematics is tested through the SOF International Mathematics IMO Level 1 exam. The foundation conducts a level 2 exam for students studying from classes 3 to 12 who clear the SOF IMO level 1.
- The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) will conduct the International Mathematics Olympiad level 1 Set A exam on October 23, 2026, Set B will be held on November 26, 2026, while the Set C exam will be conducted on December 10, 2026.
- Students are advised to prepare the IMO syllabus for level 1 to qualify for the exam with good marks.
- They are advised to solve the IMO sample papers to know the exam pattern and important topics asked in the exams.
- The foundation will release the SOF IMO answer key for Set A in November 2026. The Set B answer key will be released in December 2026, and the Set C key will be published in December 2026. Students can use it to compare their answers with the correct ones and calculate the expected scores.
- The IMO results 2026-27 will be declared online through the official website, sofworld.org, in January 2027.
- The foundation will release the SOF IMO cut-off in January 2027.
- SOF will conduct the IMO Level 2 exam in February 2027.
- The application forms for the IMO exam 2026-27 are issued and submitted at the school level by paying the application fee of Rs 170. No fee is payable for students suffering from any major physical disability or an Indian student whose parent was martyred during defence operations

IMO Important Dates
IMO International Mathematical Olympiad (session 2026)
There will be only one mode to apply for the IMO exam 2026, i.e. Offline. Interested students should contact their respective schools. The registration forms will be sent to the school authorities.
- Students must pay an application fee of Rs. 170 per student along with the application form.
- It must be remembered that no student can apply for the IMO 2026-27 registration independently.
- SOF will not accept any application form directly from students. Students should contact their respective schools for their registration.
There are no specific eligibility criteria for the IMO exam 2026-27.
- Students studying in classes 1 to 12 are eligible to apply for the SOF IMO 2026 exam.
- The Level 1 Exam will be held for Class 1 to 12 students.
- SOF IMO Level 2 exams will be held for students from classes 3rd to 12th.

International Mathematical Olympiad 2026
- The test duration for level 1 is 60 minutes.
- There will be a total of 35 objective-type questions (MCQs) for classes 1 to 4 and 50 objective-type questions (MCQs) for classes 5 to 12.
- The medium of the SOF IMO exam 2026 is English.
- There are separate SOF IMO 2026-27 question papers for each class.

IMO 2026 Syllabus
IMO International Mathematical Olympiad Syllabus
Science Olympiad Foundation releases IMO sample papers for students to make them aware of important aspects like marking scheme, type of questions asked, important topics, etc. Solving IMO 2026-27 sample papers also helps in learning time management skills. The International Maths Olympiad sample papers are created based on the recent exam pattern of the question papers. Students can check their preparation level by solving the IMO 2026-27 sample papers.
The SOF will release the IMO Level 1 admit card on the official website. Students can collect it from their respective school authorities. The admit card for the level II exams will be released in January 2027. Students can download the same by visiting the official website of SOF.
The Science Olympiad Foundation will release IMO level 1 Set A answer key in November 2026. The SOF IMO Set B answer key will be released in December 2026, while the Set C key will also be released in December 2026. The IMO answer keys 2026-27 contains the correct answers to each question asked in the IMO 2026 exam. Students can calculate their estimated scores with the help of the IMO answer key.
- The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) will declare the IMO result 2026-27 for level 1 in January 2027.
- Students can access the results for IMO online from the official website at sofworld.org.
- Whereas the IMO 2026-27 level 2 results will be announced in March 2027.
- SOF will send the IMO 2026-27 result and Student Performance Report (SPR) to the school authorities.
