The Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) conducted the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) on November 12, November 28, and December 12, 2025, for Sets A, B, and C, respectively. The SOF IMO is conducted at two levels. The Level 1 exam tests students on Logical Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, Everyday Mathematics, and Higher-Order Thinking Skills. SOF IMO Class 10 Syllabus 2025-26
For the SOF IMO Level 1 exam, there will be 4 sections which students need to solve. The section-wise syllabus is mentioned below:
Section 1: Logical Reasoning
The topics incorporated in the Logical Reasoning section include the following:
- Verbal Reasoning
- Non-Verbal Reasoning
- Series Completion
- Analogy
- Coding-Decoding
- Blood Relations
- Direction Sense Test
- Ranking and Order
- Puzzle Test
- Venn Diagrams
Section 2: Mathematical Reasoning
The SOF IMO Mathematical reasoning section is built to test students’ understanding of concepts from Class 10, along with important fundamentals from Class 9, as per SOF’s guideline of 60% current class and 40% previous class. The topics incorporated in the syllabus include the following:
- Real Numbers
- Polynomials
- Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables
- Quadratic Equations
- Arithmetic Progressions
- Triangles
- Coordinate Geometry
- Introduction to Trigonometry
- Some Applications of Trigonometry

- Areas Related to Circles

- Probability
Section 3: Everyday Mathematics
Section 3 of the IMO syllabus, level 1, deals with the application of math concepts in real-life situations. The topics included are:

- Profit and Loss
- Speed, Time and Distance
- Time and Work
- Ratio and Proportion
- Percentage
- Simple and Compound Interest
- Miscellaneous Problem-Solving Scenarios
Section 4: Achievers Section
The Achievers section features Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions based on the same syllabus as Section 2: Mathematical Reasoning. These are conceptual, application-driven problems that challenge students’ critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills.
