The Board of Secondary Education, Assam, released the HSLC exam syllabus for Class 10 all subjects. The Assam HSLC syllabus 2026 is available to download from the official website at sebaonline.org. The PDF download link for SEBA's new syllabus is also given below. Last year, the board decided to introduce a new elective subject, "Artificial Intelligence and Robotics" for the Class 9 and 10 students. This new subject is implemented in Class 9, and is introduced in Class 10 in the 2026 academic year.

Assam HSLC Syllabus

Students taking the Assam HSLC exam 2026 must check the complete syllabus of Assam Class 10. The sebaonline.org HSLC syllabus 2026 comprises topics and subtopics for each subject. Assam SEBA HSLC Complete Syllabus 2026

Below is the revised syllabus given for all the major subjects of Assam Class 10. SEBA follows the NCERT Books for class 10, hence students can also check the same to prepare for the exam in a better way.

Assam SEBA HSLC Syllabus 2026 for Maths

Mathematics is one of the toughest subjects. Hence, students have to devote at least 3 hours daily to Mathematics. Refer to the important topics and respective marks of the SEBA new syllabus for class 10, Maths 2026. Chapter 9, Some applications of trigonometry have been completely omitted from the Assam HSLC syllabus 2026 for the current academic year. The rest of the excluded topics are provided below.

Euclid’s division lemma, Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic-statements after reviewing work done earlier and after illustrating and motivating through examples. Polynomial

Zeros of a polynomial. Relationship between zeros and coefficients of a polynomial with particular reference to quadratic polynomials. Statement and simple problems on the division algorithm for polynomials with real coefficients

Pair of Linear Equations in 2 variables

Pair of linear equations in two variables. Geometric representation of different possibilities of solutions/ inconsistency. Algebraic conditions for the number of solutions. Solution of a pair of linear equations in two variables algebraically by substitution, by elimination and by cross multiplication. Simple situational problems must be included. Simple problems on equations reducible to linear equations may be included.

Quadratic Equations

Standard form of a quadratic equation ax2 + bx + c = 0, (a ¹ 0). Solution of quadratic equations (only real roots) by factorisation and by completing the square, i.e. by using the quadratic formula. Relationship between discriminant and nature of roots. Problems related to day-to-day activities to be incorporated.

Arithmetic Progression

Motivation for studying A.P. Derivation of standard results of finding the nth terms and the sum of the first n terms.

Introduction to Trigonometry

Trigonometric ratios of an acute angle of a right-angled triangle. Proof of their existence (well defined); motivate the ratios, whichever are defined at 00 and 900. Values (with proof) of the trigonometric ratios of 300, 450 and 600. Relationship between the ratios. Trigonometric Identities: Proof and applications of the identity sin2 A + cos2A=1, sec2A - tan2A=1, cosec2A - cot2A = 1. Only simple identities to be given. Trigonometric ratios of complementary angles

Heights and Distances (Not from an examination point of view)

Simple and believable problems on heights and distances. Problems should not involve more than two right triangles. Angles of elevation/depression should be only 30, 45, and 60 degrees.

Lines (In two-dimensions)

Review the concepts of coordinate geometry done earlier, including graphs of linear equations. Awareness of the geometrical representation of quadratic polynomials. Distance between two points and section formula (internal). Area of a triangle.

Triangles

Definitions, examples, and counterexamples of similar triangles. i) (Prove) If a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other two sides in distinct points, the other two sides are divided in the same ratio. ii) (Motivate) If a line divides two sides of a triangle in the same ratio, the line is parallel to the third side. iii) (Motivate) If in two triangles, the corresponding angles are equal, their corresponding sides are proportional, and the triangles are similar. iv) (Motivate) If the corresponding sides of two triangles are proportional, their corresponding angles are equal, and the two triangles are similar. v) (Motivate) If one angle of a triangle is equal to one angle of another triangle and the sides including these angles are proportional, the two triangles are similar. vi) (Motivate) If a perpendicular is drawn from the vertex of the right angle to the hypotenuse, the triangles on each side of the perpendicular are similar to the whole triangle and to each other. vii) (Prove) The ratio of the areas of two similar triangles is equal to the ratio of the squares on their corresponding sides. viii) (Prove) In a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. ix) (Prove) In a triangle, if the square of one side is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides, the angle opposite to the first side is a right angle.

Circles

Tangent to a circle at any point on it is motivated by chords drawn from points coming closer and closer to the point. i) (Prove) The tangent at any point of a circle is perpendicular to the radius through the point of contact. ii) (Prove) The lengths of tangents drawn from an external point to a circle are equal.

Constructions

i) Division of a line segment in a given ratio (internally). ii) Tangent to a circle from a point outside it. iii) Construction of a triangle similar to a given triangle.

Area Related to Circle

Motivate the area of a circle; area of sectors and segments of a circle. Problems based on areas and perimeter/circumference of the above-mentioned plane figures. (In calculating the area of a segment of a circle, problems should be restricted to central angles of 60, 90, and 120 degrees only. Plane figures involving triangles, simple quadrilaterals and circles should be taken.)

Surface Areas and Volumes

i) Problems on finding surface areas and volumes of combinations of any two of the following: cubes, cuboids, spheres, hemispheres and right circular cylinders/cones. Frustum of a cone. ii) Problems involving converting one type of metallic solid into another and other mixed problems. (Problems with the combination of not more than two different solids.)

Statistics

Mean, median and mode of grouped data (bimodal situation to be avoided). Cumulative frequency graph.

Probabilities

Classical definition of probability. Connection with probability as given in Class IX. Simple problems on single events, not using set notation.

Students will require a minimum of 30 marks to pass the Social Science theory paper. There will be 4 sections that are History, Geography, Political Science and Economics. Assam SEBA HSLC Syllabus 2026 for English

The English paper comprises reading, writing, literature and grammar sections. It is a practice-based subject. Only a little effort is required to pass the exam. Students should prepare for each section. Refer to the Class 10 English syllabus SEBA 2026 below to know what to prepare.

Assam SEBA HSLC Marking Scheme 2026

Along with the Assam HSLC syllabus 2026, students should be aware of the marking scheme. Assam HSLC question papers might consist of 10-20% difficult questions, 50% average questions and 20-30% easy questions.
