The National Means Cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) scheme is offered by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) of India. A total of 1,00,000 NMMS scholarships are awarded annually to deserving class 8th students by the Ministry of Education. The NMMS exams are conducted at the state level by SCERTs or Education departments in an offline mode. There are two sections in the NMMS Exam: MAT and SAT. It takes 90 minutes to complete each of these papers, and each paper carries 90 marks. Students who pass the NMMS scholarship exam and are selected in the merit list will receive an NMMS scholarship amount of Rs 12000 per year from Class 9 to 12.
