The Class 8 syllabus of NCERT is newly updated for 2025-26 according to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and NCF-SE 2023. The fresh approach in teaching and learning includes a more holistic, engaging, and real-life application-based learning of education at all levels. New textbooks like "Curiosity" (Science), "Exploring Society" (Social Science), and "Deepakam" (Sanskrit) move towards a departure from rote learning into concept-based understanding, promoting critical thinking, creativity, and connection with India's knowledge traditions.
This way, students will now study topics in a much more interactive and integrated manner through content that encourages inquiry and logical reasoning, along with 21st-century skills. All NCERT textbooks are now available on the maazon store but not on the official portal of NCERT., The updated NCERT syllabus lays a solid foundation to bring a paradigm shift in the learning experience of Class 8 students in different parts of the country.
Once NCERT updates the books on its official website, the syllabus PDF file will be made available on this site for the reference of our users. At present, the NCERT Class 8 latest books are available only on the Amazon store. The updated syllabus has not yet been uploaded to the official NCERT website. This page will be updated with the new syllabus PDF as soon as it is available.

Step 3: Click on the 'Syllabus for Classes on the Elementary Level' option. The syllabus PDF will open.
Step 4: Choose the "Required Subject Class VI to VIII Syllabus" in the PDF.
Step 5: The NCERT Class 8 syllabus PDF will be displayed on your screen. Download and save it for future use.
The official authority has released new NCERT books for subjects like Science, Social Science, English, and Sanskrit. The updated syllabus and book PDFs are not yet available for download on the NCERT official website.
