Bihar Board 12th: Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) conducts the Class 12th examination for all the three streams - Arts, Commerce and Science stream in Bihar. In 2018, Bihar Board 12th was conducted from February 6 to 16, 2018. The result has been declared online on June 6, 2018, and can be checked stream-wise by candidates using their roll numbers. Out of 11.9 lakh students who appeared for Bihar 12th Board, 52.95% cleared the examination. The pass percentages of Science, Commerce and Arts streams are 44.7%, 91.32% and 61.32%, respectively. Kalpana Kumari, who also topped NEET this year, bagged the first position in Science Stream with 434 out of 500 marks. Nidhi Sinha from RDS College Muzaffarpur and Kusum Kri from Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya, Jamui topped the Commerce and Arts Streams with 434 and 424 marks, respectively.
The exam was held at around 1384 centres across the state. This year, the board changed exam pattern. The question paper had 50% objective questions. For answering objective type questions, OMR sheets were provided to students. The online submission of application form was available from July 26 to August 5, 2018. The examination fee was accepted from August 6 to 11 and the admit card was released in January. The result of Bihar Board 12th has been announced on June 6, 2018. The Board has announced the result separately for all the streams. Candidates have to check their result online by choosing the stream and submitting their roll number in the login window. Bihar Board Intermediate result displays the marks secured by candidates in practical and theory, division and qualifying status. The compartmental exam will be conducted in July for students who fail to clear not more than two subjects in the intermediate exam. The result of the compartmental exam will be declared in August.

BSEB has revised the exam pattern of Bihar Board 12th. According to the new exam pattern, the exam papers constitute 50% objective questions. Candidates are provided with OMR sheet for answering the objective type questions. Subjects like Accountancy, Mathematics, Business Studies, Economics, History, Political Science, Philosophy and Sociology carries total 100 marks with 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). These questions carries 1 mark each. The language papers – Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Maithili, Bhojpuri, Magahi, Urdu, Persian, Arabic and Bengali carries 50 MCQs of 1 mark. These papers carry total 50 marks. Language exam of Pali and Prakrit Bhasha and its history are held for 100 marks. There are total 50 MCQs of 1 mark each. Subjects that involving both theory and practical consists of 35 MCQs in theory paper. For subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Physical Education, Geography, Home Science, Physical Education, Geography and Home Science the theory paper is held for 70 marks. There are 35 objective type questions carrying 35 marks, each question is for 1 mark. The music paper carries 30 marks, out of which 14 marks are allocated to 14 MCQs of 1 mark. The Vocational papers are conducted for 100 marks. These papers consists of 50 MCQs of 1 mark. The total marks of the exam is for 500 marks, students have to secure 33% to qualify. BSEB is established for organising and conducting an examination at the end of the Secondary School stage. Every year the Board conducts Annual Secondary School Examination in the month of February/March and Supplementary School Examination in the month of August/September on the basis of course/syllabus as prescribed by the state government.
