Subject-Wise UK Board 12th Exam Pattern 2026
Students appearing for the 2026 UK board 12th exam must check out the class 12 exam pattern, as it includes the marking scheme and also helps them understand the type of questions that are asked in the examination. They must also solve the previous years' UK board 12th question papers to improve their problem-solving skills and analyse the question pattern.
For subjects without practicals, the question paper will carry 80 marks for the theory paper and 20 marks for the internal assessment, while subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, etc, that have practicals will carry 70 marks for the theory and the remaining 30 marks are assigned for practicals. The UK board 12th English paper will be divided into two sections: Section A (Reading) and Section B (Creative Writing Skills).
The “Reading” section will consist of two passages; they must read and answer the questions based on the passage.
On the other hand, the “creative writing skills” will include notice writing, letter writing, article writing, grammar, etc.
Students will get the option of internal choices in the question paper. Where they can choose to answer any one question out of the two. There will be 1 mark, 2 marks, 4 marks and 5 marks questions.
