Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has releases the Assam HS exam pattern on the official website. The Assam HS exam pattern for 2025-26, covers subjects like Maths, Accounts, Chemistry, Biology, and more. The Assam AHSEC exam pattern will feature four sections: objective-type, very short answer, short answer, and long answer questions. Each subject will have a maximum of 16 questions. The Assam 12th Class exam pattern will be consistent for both compulsory and elective subjects. Also, recently, the board has clarified that there is no immediate plan to introduce OMR Answer Sheets in the HS final Examinations of 2026

Some AHSEC subjects include internal assessment components that contribute to the final marks. Students need to carry the Assam HS admit card 2026 to appear for the board exam. To pass a subject, students must secure a minimum of 30% in the theory exam and 40% in practical exams. Importantly, there is no negative marking in AHSEC exams.
For AHSEC Class 12, students must study two core subjects: English and a Modern Indian Language. Also, they must choose three elective subjects. Each elective subject is worth a total of 100 marks, with 70 marks allocated for the theory exam and 30 marks for practical exams.
