    Olympiad Exams 2026-27: Conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF)

    The SOF conducts Olympiad exams in a number of subjects, including General Knowledge, Mathematics, Science, English, Commerce, Social Studies, and others. There are two levels of school-level Olympiad exams conducted by SOF. The details and dates for the level 1 and level 2 exams are announced on the website: sofworld.org.

    The level 1 Science Olympiad Foundation examinations are conducted on multiple dates. Science Olympiad Foundation follows the syllabus of CBSE, CISCE, and other state boards. Below are the details of the SOF exams.

    1. SOF International Computer Science Olympiad (ICSO)

    SOF ICSO is conducted for Classes 1 to 10. The question paper of the SOF International Computer Science Olympiad is objective. For classes 1 to 4, there are a total of 35 multiple-choice questions, and there are 50 MCQs for classes 5 to 10. The exam will be held for 60 minutes. The question papers are divided into three sections: Achievers Section, Computers and Information Technology, and Logical Reasoning.

    2. SOF National Science Olympiad (NSO)

    SOF NSO is conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation for the students of Classes 1 to 12. The National Science Olympiad is held to assess students' logical ability and scientific reasoning. The exam is conducted at two levels. There is a level one examination for students studying in Classes 1 to 12 and a level two examination for students studying in Classes 3 to 12. For Classes 1-10, the question paper consists of three sections: Logical Reasoning, Science, and Achievers. The classes 11 and 12 question paper is also divided into three sections: mathematics/biology, the Achievers Section, and physics/chemistry.

    3. SOF International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO)

    The International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) is held for students studying in classes 1 to 12. The SOF IMO assesses students' aptitude in logical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and common mathematics. IMO level 1 exams are conducted for students in Classes 1 to 12, whereas level 2 exams are conducted for students studying in Classes 3 to 12. The exam duration is 1 hour.

    4. SOF International English Olympiad (IEO)

    SOF IEO is held at two levels. The IEO Level 1 exam for classes 1 to 4 consists of a total of 35 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), while the International English Olympiad for classes 5 to 12 has 50 questions and carries a total of 60 marks.

    Word & Structure Knowledge, Reading, Spoken & Written Expression, and the Achievers Section are the four main areas from which the questions are asked. Students can follow the CBSE, ICSE, or any other state Board’s syllabus of their respective classes to qualify for the IEO exam.

    5. SOF International Commerce Olympiad (ICO)

    SOF ICO is conducted for the students of classes 11 & 12. For the level 1 exam, the time allotted is 60 minutes. Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, and the Achievers Section are the 4 sections from which the questions are asked.

    6. SOF International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO)

    IGKO is held for the students of Classes 1 to 10. The International General Knowledge Olympiad has only one level. In the exam, there are 50 Multiple Choice Questions for Classes 5 to 10, and 35 Multiple Choice Questions for Classes 1 to 4. The question paper has four sections: General Awareness, Current Affairs, Life Skills, and the Achievers section.

    7. SOF International Social Studies Olympiad (ISSO)

    SOF ISSO is a single-level examination, which is held for the students of Classes 3 to 10. The exam duration of ISSO is 60 minutes. For Classes 3 to 5, the paper is divided into two sections: Social Studies and the Achievers Section. For Classes 6 to 8, the paper is divided into 4 sections: History, Geography, Social and Political Life, and the Achievers Section. The ISSO question paper for Classes 9 and 10 is divided into 5 sections: History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, and the Achievers Section.

    1. Unified International Cyber Olympiad

    UICO is conducted for the students of Classes 2 to 12. The International Cyber Olympiad evaluate students' understanding of using their mental abilities, logical thinking, and computer competence. The Unified International Cyber Olympiad's main objectives include streamlining computer education, fostering competition, incorporating logic, reasoning, and mental aptitude into the learning process, identifying talent and evaluating students on a national scale, and exposing students to cutting-edge technology and computer study.

    The UICO exam consists of 50 questions with 50 marks total. Negative marking has no place in the UICO Olympiad exam result. The UICO curriculum is class-specific. To study for the exam, students should consult the textbooks for their respective classes.

    Olympiad Exams 2026-27: Conducted by SilverZone Foundation

    1. International Informatics Olympiad

    Silverzone Foundation conducts the IIO annually. The International Informatics Olympiad is open to students in Classes 1 to 12. The IIO tests the student's knowledge of computer science. The syllabus for the Informatics Olympiad is based on the curriculum for the relevant class as prescribed by the CBSE/ICSE or other state boards.

    2. International Olympiad of Science

    IOS gauges students' proficiency in the field of science. It is open to students in grades 1 to 12. The examination has a 40-minute time limit, and it is a total of 100 marks. The International Olympiad of Science has a different number of questions for each class. The IOS question paper is divided into three sections: Scholar Zone, Reasoning and Aptitude, and Science.

    3. International Olympiad of Mathematics

    Students in Classes 1 to 12 can take the IOM. It takes place yearly on a national and international scale. The exam lasts 40 minutes for Classes 1 and 2, and 50 minutes for Classes 3 to 12. The IOM test carries 100 total marks.

    HBCSE Mathematical Olympiad Exam 2026-27

    The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) is held by the Mathematics Teachers' Association (India) - MTA with assistance from the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) and the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). Students in Classes 8 to 12 may apply for the HBCSE Mathematical Olympiad. There will be 30 questions in the exam, which will last three hours.

    The Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) conducts the first stage of India's Science Olympiad programme through the National Standard Examinations (NSEs) in five subjects: Astronomy (NSEA), Biology (NSEB), Chemistry (NSEC), Physics (NSEP) and Junior Science (NSEJS). These examinations serve as the gateway to the national and international science olympiad selection process.

    Students studying in Classes 8 to 12 can apply for the relevant examinations based on the subject-specific eligibility criteria. The syllabus for NSEB, NSEC and NSEP is broadly aligned with the CBSE curriculum up to Class 12, while NSEA includes questions from astronomy, mathematics and physics. NSEJS is designed for junior students and covers concepts from science and mathematics.

    Candidates who qualify in the National Standard Examinations progress to the Indian National Olympiads (INOs), followed by the Orientation-cum-Selection Camp (OCSC) conducted by HBCSE. The top-performing students are then selected for training camps and eventually represent India at international science olympiads
