If students have 30% marks in any subject for passing the BSEB Matric exam, and if students also have 30% aggregate marks for passing the exam, then that student will be declared passed. However, if a student fails in one or two subjects, then he/she will be declared fail. But these students would be permitted to sit for the BSEB 10th compartmental exam, which takes place in Apr/May annually. Students short by one or two marks in any subject would be granted grace marks and would pass the examination.

Students who are unsatisfied with the Bihar board open school result can apply for re-totalling of their marks.
For this, they will have to submit an application form.
