The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for the All India Sainik School Entrance Examination (AISSEE) for classes 6 and 9 admission. Candidates domiciled in Telangana will no longer be eligible under the 67 % “Home State” quota for admissions to Sainik School Kalikiri (Andhra Pradesh) and Sainik School Korukonda (Andhra Pradesh). Instead, Telangana domiciles may apply only under the 33 % “Other State” quota for these schools.

The Sainik School entrance exam 2026 is conducted for the admission of students in classes 6 and 9. The Sainik School admission 2026 includes three stages, which the candidates need to qualify for separately. Let’s go through the detailed admission process for the AISSEE 2026.
State 1: Entrance Exam
The Sainik School entrance exam 2026 is the first stage of the admission process.
This is a written examination where the candidates need to appear in an OMR-based test, which includes multiple-choice questions.
For class 6, the total marks of the exam are 300, and for class 9, the total marks are 400.
Stage 2: E-Counselling
The students who qualify for the entrance test will qualify for the e-counselling process. The counselling process needs to be completed online, where the students and their parents need to carefully choose the Sainik Schools they want to take admission in.
Once the student qualifies for all the stages, they will be given seats in their school of choice based on availability.
Stage 3: Medical test
The medical test is conducted to test the physical and medical fitness of the candidates.
This test is conducted by the board of military and civil doctors.
Generally, tests like eyesight, hearing, physical health, and tests for chronic diseases are examined during the medical test.
It is mandatory for the candidates to appear in the medical test and qualify to go ahead with the admission process.

Step 1: Sainik School Admission online registration form
Visit the official website of NTA, at exams.nta.ac.in/AISSEE/.
Click on the application form link for the Sainik School admission available on the homepage.
Now, create a new user account and fill in the application form with the required information.
Enter personal details, address, exam medium, exam centre, and parents' details.
Verify and save the details to create a unique application number and password.
Step 2: Upload photograph and a signature
Go through the list of documents required to upload for the application and keep scanned copies safely on your PC.
Upload a scanned passport-sized photograph and signature.
Make sure that the images do not exceed the specified size, which is 1MB.
Step 3: Application fee payment
The application fees for general students are Rs 800/-, and for SC/ST students, the application fee is Rs 650/-.
The application fee should be paid online using a credit card, debit card, or net banking.
Step 4: Upload all documents and submit the application form
Submit the scanned copy of the birth certificate, caste certificate (if applicable), and Aadhar card.
The maximum size of the files should be 2 MB in .jpg, .png, or .pdf format.
Submit and download the confirmation page for future reference.

The admit card for the Sainik School entrance exam 2026 will be released by NTA on the official website. The candidates will be able to download their admit card using their login credentials generated during the application process. The AISSEE admit card 2026 will include the examination schedule, exam timing, reporting time, exam centre details, and other important details of the examination, which the candidates require. Without the admit card, the candidates will not be permitted to enter the exam centre on the exam day. The admit card will be made available 10 to 15 days before the exam day.
After the examination is concluded, the NTA releases the provisional answer key, which includes the correct answers to the questions asked in the examination. The candidates can download the AISSEE answer key 2026 PDF and check the answers to calculate their expected scores as well. NTA also allows the candidates some time to raise objections against the answer key, if there are any mistakes or discrepancies. The board will release the final answer key after considering the objections raised by the candidates.
The Sainik School result 2026 for class 6 and class 9 will be released on the official website of NTA. The results can be expected to be released in May 2026. The NTA will release individual score cards for the candidates, where they can check their section-wise score and qualifying status. The Sainik schools will separately release the merit list on their official websites, announcing the list of candidates who qualified for the examination.
