  • Nationality- Only Indians could apply for admission, as per AISSEE 2025-26 eligibility criteria.

  • Age Limit- The student's age should be between 13-15 years, as on March 31, 2025. The student should have been born between April 1, 2011 and March 31, 2013 (including both days).

  • Education Qualification- Students should have passed Class 8 from a recognized school at the time of admission.

New Sainik School Admission Criteria

Admission at New Sainik Schools is provided at the Class 6 level for the academic year 2025-26. Here is the eligibility for both routes of admission at New Sainik Schools.

Eligibility Requirements for New Sainik Schools Under 40% Route

  • A student should be 10-12 years old as of March 31, 2025. The student should have been born between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2016 (including both days) for the academic year 2025-26.

Eligibility Requirements for New Sainik Schools Under 60% Route

  • A student should be 10-12 years old as of March 31, 2025, for admission to Class 6. The student should have been born between April 1, 2014, and March 31, 2016 (including both days) for the academic year 2025-26.

  • A student should be studying in the approved New Sainik School where he is seeking admission and must have passed/appeared in Class 5 as of March 31, 2025.

Sainik School Admission Process for Girls

The NTA Sainik school admission process for girls is the same as for boys, they can get admission in Class 6. It is required to fulfil the Sainik school age limit for class 6 before filling out the form. Girls are required to clear the written exam, then appear in the online counselling and after that medical examination will be done.
