Rashtriya Military Schools Admissions 2025: Last Date, Procedure, Exam Date

Rashtriya Military Schools of India conducts RMS admissions 2025-26 at all its schools through the CET exam. RMS holds a Common Entrance Test (CET) for boys for Classes 6 and 9. Students could submit their applications from August 21 to September 19, 2024. Changes to examination locations were permitted from September 20 to 22, 2024, till 8 pm. The exam date was December 8, 2024. RMS CET admit card was released on December 2, 2024, at 4 pm. RMS CET result was announced on January 27, 2025. The final merit list for admission will be published in March 2025.

Rashtriya Military Schools, which are English medium residential Public Schools, are operated by the Ministry of Defence to provide high-quality education to the children of defence personnel and civilians from Classes 6 to 12. RMS conducts admissions 2025 for Classes 6 and 9 only. RMS admission is conducted in two stages. The first stage is the Common Entrance Test. After clearing the Rashtriya Military School CET 2025-26, students are called for an interview and a medical exam. Thereafter, candidates are selected in order of merit based on merit.

Admission into classes 6 and 9 is based on available vacancies. Parents/students should also note that all admissions are in the category of Boarders only. Admission to day scholars is not allowed.

RMS Admission 2025-26 Procedure:

• Written Test: An OMR-based written exam is conducted for classes 6 and 9. The medium of the paper is bilingual (Hindi and English) for Class 6 and only English for Class 9.
• Interview: Students who qualify for the exam will be called for an interview at RMS. The marks of the interview will be added to the written test score to prepare a merit list.
• Result & Medical Test: Merit list of successful candidates and the school allotment will be announced. All the students will go through a medical fitness test and students found medically unfit will not be admitted.

RMS schools are situated in five different locations: Chail in the Shimla Hills of Himachal Pradesh, Ajmer and Dholpur in Rajasthan, Belgaum, and Bengaluru in Karnataka. Rashtriya Military Schools Admissions- Eligibility Criteria

There is a certain set of criteria laid by Rashtriya Military Schools for admission in Classes 6 and 9. Check the eligibility criteria for RMS admissions 2025-26 here.

• Children aged 10 to 12 years as of March 31, 2025 (born between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2015, inclusive) are eligible for admission to Class VI. Additionally, those aged 13 to 15 years as of March 31, 2025 (born between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2012, inclusive) may apply for admission to Class IX. A six-month extension to the upper age limit is allowed for the children of personnel who have been killed in action.
• Both boys and girls are allowed to take admission in Classes 6 and 9.

• For Class 6 - The student must have passed Class 5 or must be studying in Class 5 and pass it before the date of RMS admission.

• For Class 9 - For admission in Class 9, the student should have passed Class 8 from a government-recognized school, before the date of Rashtriya Military School admission.

Rashtriya Military Schools Admissions 2025-26 Form

The prospectus and application form for the RMS admissions procedure 2025-26 is available in online mode. Students/parents can also obtain the application from the official website of Rashtriya Military Schools.

Before filling out the admission form, students need to have all the required documents with them along with a scanned copy of a photo and signature. The admission form fee payment will be done online. Students will need to first register themselves and then with the generated login ID and password, they can proceed with the admission form.

• There is one single paper for Class 6, while for Class 9, there will be two papers.

• There will be two papers in the Class 9 entrance test. Both papers will be of 100 marks each.

• Both papers will be objective.

The RMS admit card 2025 was released in online mode from December 2, 2024, at 4 pm. Students can download the RMS admit card from the official website, rashtriyamilitaryschools.edu.in login. To download the same, students need to enter the required credentials such as application number, date of birth, etc.

Rashtriya Military Schools Result 2025

The RMS entrance test result 2025-26 was announced on January 27, 2025. The result is released online at rashtriyamilitaryschools.edu.in. To get access to the result, students need to enter their roll number, class, and date of birth. After the declaration of the result, students will be called for an interview and afterwards, a medical test will be conducted.

RMS School Admissions 2025-26 - Reservation Criteria

RMS reserves some seats for students of various categories. Check the detailed reservation criteria below:

• 70% of seats are reserved for the wards of serving and retired JCOs/OR those in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

• 30% of seats are reserved for the wards of officers and civilians.

• 27%,15%, and 7.5% of the seats in each category (excluding Officer Category) are reserved for OBC Non-creamy layer, SC, and ST candidates respectively.

• A total of 50 seats (Not more than 15 in either of the schools) are earmarked forwards of personnel killed in action.

• 10% seats or 30 vacancies maximum (put together in all 05 RMSs) will be reserved for Female candidates
