The Ministry of Defence operates the Rashtriya Military Schools of India and conducts the RMS admissions through the CET exam 2026-27. Candidates applying for the RMS admissions are required to pay the Rashtriya Military School Fees 2026 in online mode. They can visit the official website at rashtriyamilitaryschools.edu.in to pay the RMS admission fees online. The RMS admissions 2026-27 take place for candidates seeking admission in Classes 6 and 9. Students who have filled out the RMS application form 2026-27 are required to pay the RMS admission fee along with the RMS CET exam fee. Rashtriya Military School Eligibility Criteria 2026-27

Candidates taking admission at the Rashtriya Military Schools in India must go through the RMS eligibility criteria 2026. They must check the education qualifications and age requirements. Students can check out the RMS 2026-27 eligibility criteria below.

  • Class VI: Candidates should be studying or have passed class V before the admission date to a Rashtriya Military School. Boys and girls aged between 10-12 years as of March 31, 2026 (Born between April 1, 2014, to March 31, 2016, both days included), are eligible for Class VI admission.
  • Class IX: Students should have passed class VIII from a government/recognised school before the admission date to an RMS. Candidates aged between 13-15 years as of March 31, 2026 (born between April 1, 2011, to March 31, 2013, both days inclusive), are eligible for Class IX admission.
  • Six months of relaxation in the upper age limit is permissible for candidates of personnel killed in Action.
  • Candidates studying in Class V and Class VIII are eligible to appear for the respective RMS entrance test. They must preferably know the English language as the medium of instruction in RMS.
  • The date of birth authority will be a DOB certificate issued by the authorised local government bodies or municipal corporations only.
  • The DOB certificates issued by the Gram Panchayat or any other local body are not acceptable for admission.
  • The Rashtriya Military School admission will be considered null and void in case there is any variation in the DOB or any other particulars on the sheet role and the transfer certificate of the candidate.

Important Note:

  • There is no provision of tuition fees for children of personnel or service officers like NCOs/JCOs, who were killed in action. They are entitled to a complete exemption from paying any fees. (Capitation fee and caution money not included.)
  • Caution Money will be deposited at the time of RMS admission and is refunded to the cadet without interest on leaving the school.
  • No fee will be charged to wards and JCOs/OR and their equivalent ranks in the Navy and Air Force who have been killed in action.
  • The school fees are payable for a year and will be paid directly to the school at the time of admission.
