About Goa Board SSC 2020

Goa Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) conducts the Goa Board SSC 2020 annually. Applications for the same are processed through the respective schools affiliated to the board. Every year around 20,000 students appear for the Goa Board SSC 2020 exam. After passing the Goa 10th Board 2020 exams, students need to choose the streams such as Science, Arts or Commerce for their further studies.

  • Students will be able to collect the admit card for the Goa SSC Board exams in the month of February 2020.
  • The exam conducting body will release the Goa Board 10th time table in the month of February 2020.
  • Goa Board SSC 2020 exams will be held from April 2 to April 23, 2020, tentatively.
  • The duration of the Goa Board SSC 2020 exam varies from subject to subject.
  • Students must check the Goa Board SSC Syllabus and prepare for the exam accordingly.
  • The result for Goa SSC 2020 will be declared tentatively on May 21, 2020 
  • Students can check and download the result for Goa Board SSC 2020 online from the official website by entering their seat number or name. They can also access their result via text message.
  • If students are not satisfied with their marks in the Goa Board SSC result, they can apply for the revaluation process and check their revaluation result in the month of June 2020.
  • Students who will be unable to pass in one or two subjects can apply for the compartment exams and check their result in the first week of July 2020 in the online mode.

Goa Board SSC 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Goa board SSC 2020 has given guidelines which are to be followed by the students in order to be eligible for the Goa Board SSC exam. Goa board 10th eligibility criteria says that:

  • The student must have qualified class 9th from Goa board SSC 2020 or a recognised board.
  • They must have the required minimum attendance in class 10th.
  • Students need to acquire the admit card for Goa board SSC 2020 after filling the examination form and submitting the examination fees for the same.

Goa Board SSC 2020 Preparation Tips


Goa Board SSC 2020 is especially important as it determines which stream the students end up in Class 11th. In order to do the best to get the stream students wants to pursue in further studies, they need to work hard and study in a smart way. These things are easier said than done, thus, here are some tips and tricks used by the toppers to prepare for Goa board SSC 2020:

  • Languages: In order to prepare for languages, you need to work on three things: 1) Reading and comprehension speed, 2) Grammar and writing formats and 3) Literature and analysis. All you would need to work on these things are - read ample amount of texts and work on analyzing them.
  • Mathematics: Mathematics is a fun subject when you get the hang of it. But some students solve mathematics more as a task rather a fun exercise. Take the help of your teachers and friends when you're stuck anywhere. Don't make it a task.

It must be noted that the duration of the Goa Board SSC 2020 exam varies from subject to subject. The total marks of the exam vary between 80, 65 and 40 marks respectively. Subjects with a time duration of 2.5 hours and total marks 80:

  • First languages: English, Marathi and Hindi.
  • Third languages: English, Kannada, Marathi and Konkani.

Subjects with a time duration of 2.5 hours and total marks 65:

  • Mathematics and Science.

Subjects with time duration of 2 hours and total marks 40:

  • Pre-vocational (Home science group): Food processing and cookery.
  • Word processing (theory) and word processing (practical).

Subjects with a time duration of 1.5 hours and total marks 40:

  • Third languages: Sanskrit composite and Hindi composite.
  • Social science - I and Social science - II. 

Subjects with a time duration of 1.5 hours and total marks 30:

  • Travel & Tourism, Agriculture, IT/ITeS, Banking financial services & insurance, Apparel, Healthcare and Automobile.

Subjects with practical exams carry 80 marks for theory & 20 marks for the practical assessment. From the 20 marks in practicals, 25% is for internal assessment.
