About Tamil Nadu SSLC 2020

Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu will conduct the Tamil Nadu Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Exam. Students can apply for SSLC 2020 Exam by filling the application form in online or offline mode.
Latest: TN SSLC exams have been postponed. Soon, the board will release new TN SSLC time table 2020.  

  • The exam of SSLC 2020 will be conducted in April 2020. The exam will be conducted offline i.e. pen and paper mode. 
  • DGE, Tamil Nadu conducts the class 10th exam for all government and private schools in the state TN SSLC 2020 result will be announced in the last week of April 2020. 
  • Students who are not satisfied with their result can apply for revaluation and the ones who are not able to pass the exam can apply for Instant Special Supplementary Examination conducted by the Board in the month of June 2020. 
  • The result for the supplementary exams will be announced in the month of July 2020

Last year, a total of 9,37,859 candidates appeared for the exam. The overall pass percentage was 95.2 %. The pass percentage among girls was 97% while it was 93.3% among boys. Students who successfully passed Tamil Nadu SSLC exam can select an academic stream out of Science, Commerce, and Arts to opt-in class 11 and class 12.

Tamil Nadu SSLC 2020 Eligibility Criteria

To appear in Tamilnadu SSLC Board exam one must satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

  •  Candidates must have completed 14 years as on March 1, 2020.
  • Must have passed class 9 from Tamil Nadu Board

Age exemption – If candidates have not completed 14 years as on the prescribed date they should submit an order from the authorities given below.

If the candidate is less than 14 by more than 2 years

The application process for SSLC can be carried out in online and offline mode. For Regular students, the concerned headmasters are required to send the names of candidates who are appearing for the SSLC examination to DGE. Private candidates have to apply for SSLC examination in Government Examination Service Centres located in all educational districts. The officials have to upload the data like name, date of birth, language and subjects, educational qualification, photo and address, and contact number of the student. The center officials will give the filled application along with registration slip.

Tamil Nadu SSLC Board exams are conducted for the following subject – Tamil, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Optional Language (Telugu, Arabic, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Gujarati Sanskrit. French and Urdu). Students must obtain minimum of 35% marks in each subject to pass the exams. Marks secured in the optional subject is not taken into account for declaration of a pass or fail. Tamilnadu SSLC Board exam pattern is given in the table below.

Tamil Nadu SSLC 2020 Admit Card

Regular candidates must collect their admit card from the respective schools. Private candidates have to download their Tamilnadu SSLC admit card online from the official website. Candidates must enter the application number and date of birth to download the admit card. The admit card mentions the name, address, registration number, roll number, subjects, codes, duration and date of birth. One must carry admit card of Tamilnadu SSLC Board during the exam as they will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

The result of Tamilnadu SSLC Board 2020 will be announced by DGE, Tamil Nadu on the official website i.e. www.dge.tn.gov.in. Candidates must enter their registration number and date of birth in the login window to check their result . Result announced will be in form of provisional marksheet which is valid for 90 days. Students can collect the original marksheet from respective school or board authorities. Tamilnadu SSLC result mentions the candidate’s name, Roll number, School Name, Date of birth, Subjects, Subject-wise total marks secured and Division. Candidates can apply for re-totalling of marks after the declaration of the result within the prescribed dates.

with out HSC , getting an admission in higher studies is impossible. Intermediate and Matric qualification is must for every candidate to go for higher studies which are career based. Candidates choose streams in which they can create and invest too.  Without 10th score , no one can go to 12th. HSC is requirement to go SSC.
