Hey there, I have a doubt. I want to get addmission into Harvard university but side by side I am preparing for JEE also & currently I am in class 12th.. And I came to know, olympiads play crucial role in addmission process! Is it so? And shall I go for NSTSE exam to complete this requirement?
To get admission into Ivy League Universities after your class 12th, it's really hard as the competition is very vast. You need to prepare from a young age for that. You need to take part in Olympiads and secure positions. Also you need to have some good skills. Also our marks in last 5-6 years of schooling must be outstanding. These colleges also consider volunteering works for admission. Students who have won medals in international competitions and have represented their country or atleast their school in international competitions are also preferred.
So if you have not been have these experiences for the last few years, then Your chances of getting admission are very slim. Also you need to appear for several exams one of them being SAT. Your score must be outstanding.
I would recommend you to prepare for JEE Mains and JEE Advanced and get into IITs and then for your Master's you can go for those IVY League Universities. In this way you can prepare your 4 years Bachelor's degree in a perfect manner so as to be eligible for admission.
Hope it helps
