Special tips for using NCERT books for Maths:

Well, Maths is a subject that can’t be learnt just like the others. It can only be bettered and understood if the formulae and methodology are put to practice. Students should understand the concepts, formulae and more important, how to put them to use. Once the concepts are clear, students should use them to arrive at the solutions. Maths is all about practice. The more students practise, the better they work out the solutions and score excellent marks.

One more important thing is not to restrict oneself to just the NCERT books that have been prescribed. Reference books and other practice books are absolutely important for subjects like Maths. The problems given at the end of each chapter are insufficient and hence, students are advised to practice from other books too.

Special tips to use NCERT books for Science:

Science in the higher classes gets divided into chemistry, physics and biology. It is at the class 8th levels that the foundation for these subjects are laid such that students learn the topics in depth as they move on to class 9, 10 and finally in class 11 and 12, they decide the stream based on the career path they wish to take.

While NCERT books for biology, physics and chemistry are the basic founding ones, one should also know how best to use them. Biology is full of diagrams. It’s important for students to learn the concepts and topics but practise diagrams respective to the topics learnt. Every answer accompanied with a related diagram will fetch excellent scores as the teachers will be able to relate to the fact that the student knows the subject well.

Physics is full of formulae and concepts that use them. So it’s ideal to learn the concepts and use the formulae as instructed to arrive at solutions. The experiments at the school laboratory are important tools to understand these concepts. So it’s best to pay attention to them and then relate while studying the chapters from the NCERT books.

Chemistry is all about periodic tables, chemicals, their composition and more. It’s important to know these well. So learn the table well – there is a method to that and if that is understood, its well and good.

How to use NCERT books for Hindi?

Hindi is perceived to be a tough language as the writing methodology varies from the spoken one. So the NCERT books for Hindi for class 8, 9 and 10 have their own exercises to be completed at the end of the chapter.

Preparing from NCERT books for English

English is one of the subjects which is mandatory while applying for some of the well-known engineering and other entrance exams. Competitive exams also have a section on it hence it is an important subject that needs to be studied well. It is easy provided students use the exercises given in the NCERT books for English. Reading newspapers, other books are also good tools to improve English.

Tips to study from NCERT books for Social Studies

Social studies comprise history, geography and civics in class 8, 9 and 10. Economics in some cases is also a part of the subject. History requires a good memory of dates of the historical events while geography pertains to the country and the world in terms of location, climate, and other such factors. Civics teaches the students about the governance of the country, rules and guidelines for the same. Students must change the strategy for each of these subjects while studying social studies. Again the exercises given at the end of the chapter are good for practice and preparation.

Students studying from the prescribed NCERT books for science, maths and other subjects have good chances of scoring well in their board exams (if they are in class 10) as well as their final exams if they are in class 8 or 9.
