The new edition (2025) of the class 6 social science textbook is now available in PDF format as per the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). Students can download the book from the official website of NCERT which is ncert.nic.in.

The old edition of the social science textbook contained 3 distinct books: Social and Political Life, The Earth – Our Habitat, and History – Our Past. In the new edition, all of these categories are compiled into one textbook called "Exploring Society: India and Beyond." The new edition was introduced in July 2024, which costs ₹65. CBSE recommends reading NCERT textbooks along with many other state boards because of the simple language used by the NCERT.
