The admission procedure of KV in Mysore is same as mentioned in KVS admission guidelines which differ as per class. Priority category system and draw of lots are followed during the entire Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysore admission process. The admission procedure for each class is given below:
25% of seats are filled through draw of lots from the applications of SC/ST/EWS/BPL/OBC/PH students.
Remaining seats are filled as per priority category system.
The vacant seats of KV Mysore for class 2 to 8 are filled by following the priority category system.
If number of applications are more than the available vacant seats then the system of draw of lots is followed.
An admission test for a duration of 3 hours is held to fill the vacant seats of class 9.
The admission test comprises the questions from Maths, Hindi, English, Science, and Social Science subjects.
The test carries 20 marks for each subject and 100 marks in total.
General students need to score at least 33% marks and reserved category students need to score only 25% marks to qualify the exam.
All the class 10 passed students of KV are admitted to KV Mysore class 11.
The streams are provided as per their marks in class 10 exams.
If seats remain vacant after admitting KV students, then Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysore class 11 admission is opened for non-KV students.
The priority category system is followed to admit non-KV students.
Students are admitted to class 10 and 12 if they are applying immediately after passing class 9 and 11 exams.
The student must have scored 55% marks in aggregate in class 9 and 11 to get admission to class 10 and 12 respectively.
The authority follows the priority category system to provide KV Mysore admission to the students.
In this, a pre-determined preference order is followed and student from a category with higher priority is admitted instead of lower priority.
After admitting the students from a higher priority, if seats remain vacant then Kendriya Vidyalaya Mysore 2020 admissions are offered to other category students as per following preference order.

This method is followed to provide class 1 onwards KV Mysore admission.
In this, a committee of 5 members is constituted to monitor the lottery system.
Under their observations, one student’s application is drawn among the applications and admission is provided to the student.
After getting admission at KV in Mysore, the parents of a student will have to submit the required documents.
