For Class 1

The lottery draws for the 25.5% reserved seats under RTE (Right to Education).

The remaining seats of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Pune are filled as per the priority category system.

For classes 2 to 8

Admission will be given based on the Priority category system. If applications exceed the number of seats, a lottery system will be followed in each category, including the single girl child quota.

For Class 9

Based on the priority category system

There is a standard admission test for KV admission in Class 9, followed by the declaration of the merit list. But this year, this test has been cancelled.

For classes 10 and 12

Kendriya Vidyalaya 2026-27 offers admission for Class 10 and 12 students based on the number of vacant seats out of the total number of seats in each class.

Age-proof certificate in the form of a birth certificate

For other Classes

Admissions up to Class 8 may be granted without any school transfer certificate, provided the child is otherwise eligible and his/the Government body has issued her birth certificate.

For the grandchildren of KVS employees, proof of the relationship of the child’s parent with the KVS employee will be required.

Children belonging to SC/ST/EWS/OBC and BPL categories must produce a certificate issued by the State or Union government.

Specially-abled candidates must produce a certificate from a civil surgeon or a rehabilitation centre.

A certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence personnel.

For grandchildren of Members of Parliament and PSU employees, proof of a relationship certificate of retirement for uniformed Defence employees of either child’s parents with the Hon’ble MP or PSU employee will be needed.
