Getting good marks is the first step. The final admission depends on the merit list and document verification.
The merit list is based on the marks you scored in the entrance test held in February 2026.
District Merit List: First preference is given to students from the same district where the JNV is located.
State Merit List: If the seats remain vacant after the district list is exhausted, a common state-level merit list is used.
Tie-Breaking: If two students score the same marks, preference is given to the student with higher marks in Mathematics, followed by Science.
After selection, students are required to submit the documents mentioned below at the time of admission:
Printout of the online application form and the JNVST class 11 admit card.
Birth Certificate
10th class marksheet and certificate
Caste certificate, disability certificate, and migration certificate (if applicable).
Transfer Certificate and Character Certificate.
Aadhaar Card, passport-size photographs, and
Medical fitness certificate.
To obtain the JNV class 11 selection test result 2026 offline, students are required to check the notice boards at their nearest JNVS, where results are commonly posted. The results are usually released as PDF selection lists, instead of individual mark sheets. To find the relevant name and roll number, students are advised to search for their respective regions and districts in the PDF.
The simplest offline option is to visit the respective JNV where students applied for admission, as they display the merit list and selection list in a physical format.
Additionally, there are occasions when JNV Class 11th results are also made available at District Education Offices or Block Education Offices in your district in a physical format.
According to the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, there is no provision for revaluation or re-totalling of marks for the class 11 JNVST 2026 entrance test. Here is a detailed breakdown of what this means for the students.
Firstly, the test is objective, i.e., OMR-based. Secondly, the evaluation of the answer sheet is done mechanically, which reduces the risk of human error. There is no subjective grading where a teacher’s opinion on an answer could change. Moreover, the official prospectus clearly states that the Class 11th result declared by the NVS is final, and no inquiries regarding the re-evaluation of answer scripts are entertained.
