JNVST Class 6 Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti determines the eligibility criteria of the NVS Selection Test. At present, 661 Vidyalayas across the country out of that 636 are functioning. To get admission into these Navodaya Vidyalayas, candidates will have to appear for JNVST Admission test. Residence: Only the candidates from the district where Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened are eligible to apply.
Age Limit: Candidate applying for JNVST must be born on or after May 1, 2007. He/She must be born on or before April 30, 2011. No age relaxation is provided for any reserved categories.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must be studying in class 5th during the academic session 2019-20 in a Government/Government aided or other recognized school.
Candidates who will be passing ‘B’ certificate competency course of National Institute of Open Schooling on or before September 30, 2019, are also eligible.
Candidate must be promoted and admitted to class 5th before September 15, 2019, else they will not be able to fulfil JNVST class 6 Eligibility Criteria.
Candidate appeared in JNVST exam earlier then he/she is not eligible to apply for the exam as No candidate is allowed to appear for the second time.
A candidate applying for admission under rural quota must have studied in class 3rd and 4th and 5th from the Government/Government Aided/Government recognized school(s) located in rural areas.
The candidate must study in 5th class from the same district where Vidyalaya is situated.
Candidates studying under the schemes of NIOS should provide their rural status certificate issued by District Magistrate / Tehsildar / Block Development Officer.
At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by candidates from rural areas and remaining seats will be filled from the urban areas of the district.
A candidate studied classes 3rd, 4th and 5th in a school located in the urban area for even a single day will be considered as an urban candidate.
There are no separate reservation criteria for transgender's candidates.

In 2018 the cut off for general category for admission in JNVST class 9 was 70-75 marks considering this you may have decent chances of qualifying in the exam.However, cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease slightly depending on number of candidates appeared, number of candidates qualified etc.
The Phase 1 of JNVST 2020 was conducted in the month of January and the results are expected in the second week of April but have been postponed due to the lockdown. There is no official communication but, they will be declared once the lockdown is lifted.
Meanwhile, the Phase 2 exam has been postponed without any rescheduled date.
