From 2022 to 2026, the exam pattern was the same, without any change in the total count of questions or the subject-wise weightage.
Mathematics and General Science together covered 70% of all questions, so students need to focus more on these subjects.
For English and Hindi, there were 15 questions each, and they mostly focused on grammar, vocabulary and comprehension skills in a straightforward way.
Most questions from Mathematics and General Science were taken from the Class 8 syllabus.
The overall difficulty was from easy to moderate, with direct formula-based questions and a few application-based questions present.
Before going for the JNVST Class 9 entrance exam, the candidates should at least get familiar with the newest exam pattern. If you know how many questions there are, what marks will be given, the total exam duration, and how each subject is weighted, it becomes easier for students to plan things smartly. Also, it helps them handle their time properly in the exam hall.
Subject | Questions | Marks |
Hindi | 15 | 15 |
English | 15 | 15 |
Mathematics | 35 | 35 |
General Science | 35 | 35 |
Total | 100 | 100 |
Complete the Class 8 syllabus first, because the entrance test is based on that same curriculum.
Give more time to Mathematics and General Science because these two are like the main heavyweights; they carry the highest number of questions.
Try to solve at least the last five years’ question papers; this way you get the idea of the pattern of questions, and also the difficulty level of the examination.
Don’t sideline English and Hindi; even if they have fewer questions, they still give you easy marks if you revise grammar regularly and practise comprehension day by day.
Try to finish each question paper within the actual exam duration; it will give you confidence before the exam.
Maintain a notebook of mistakes; whenever you make an error in a mock test or in a previous year paper, just write it down and revise it again and again so the same errors don’t keep happening.
Revise important formulas and concepts every week to last minute rush before the exam.
