UP Sainik School Admission 2027-28 Dates

The Society has announced application form dates along with other dates through a common prospectus for UP Sainik Schools. These schools are affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and have campuses in Lucknow and Gorakhpur. We have tabulated key dates below:

NTA has also announced the national-level Sainik School Entrance exam date. Soon, applications will start.

UP Sainik School Selection Process for Admission 2027-28

The Society has determined the centralised admission process for Class 6 and 9. Here are the steps of the selection process:

1. Written Examination: First, students need to appear for the UP Sainik School exam. This is an OMR-based exam containing questions from subjects like English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, and Intelligence.

2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.

3. Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify in the interview section of the UP Sainik School exam will undergo a medical fitness test.

4. Merit List: The final UP Sainik School merit list is prepared based on performance in all stages, and admissions are granted according to seat availability.

UP Sainik School Admission Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the UP Sainik Schools admission test, the candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria for their respective class:

Class 6 Eligibility

• The applicant and the father of the applicant must be a domicile of UP.

• DOB should be between July 2, 2015 and January 1, 2018 (both dates inclusive).

• Must have/will be passed Class 5 by May 20, 2027 from a recognised school.

Class 9 Eligibility

• Student and his/her father must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh

• DOB should be between July 2, 2012 and January 1, 2015 (both dates inclusive).

• Must have/will be passed Class 5 by May 20, 2027 from a recognised school.

How to Apply for UP Sainik School Admission 2027-28?

Students interested to apply for Sainik School UP admission can fill their Class 6 or 9 application forms online by following the given steps:

• Go to the official website: upsainikschool.org/entranceexam2026/public/.

• Click on the ‘New Registration’ tab given in the right sidebar, and it will open a pop-up form.

• Enter the details as asked in the form. After registration, fill out the application form:

• Complete the online application form with accurate personal, academic, and contact details.

• Upload a recent colour photograph and signature. Then, upload the required documents as asked in the application.

• Pay the application fee to submit the application successfully.

UP Sainik School Application Correction Window

After submitting the application, the application can be edited during the correction process. The Correction window will open from November 3 to November 5, 2026.

During this time, students are allowed to edit the details on their application form. However, they will not be able to change their name, class, mobile number, or email ID.

• Normal school fee: Rs 50000

• Self-finance seat school fee: Rs 1 lakh per annum

• An increase in fees is expected.

UP Sainik School Admit Card

After the applications are over, the society will start making preparations for the entrance exam. The admit card for UP Sainik School entrance examination 2027 is expected to be be released in December 2026. Students can download their admit cards online by entering their application number, password and other credentials.

While appearing for the interview test, students need to carry the original copies of the following documents:
