The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be conducting the second board examination for Social Science on May 21, 2026 from 10:30 AM to 01:30 PM. The first board exams had previously been scheduled from February 17 to March 11, 2026 for class 10. The second board examinations are optional exams conducted for those students who wish to improve their overall performance by appearing for the subjects in which they want to improve their scores. The CBSE Class 10 second board exams are being conducted from May 15 to May 21, 2026 from 10:30 AM to 01:30 PM, in various centres across India.

Read NCERT textbooks thoroughly. Most of the questions are directly based on NCERT concepts, examples, maps and case studies.
Keep separate notes for History, Geography, Political Science and Economics, as this will help in easy revision and also subject-wise understanding.
Learn important dates, events, movements and leaders in History using timelines, flowcharts and short summaries.
Do regular map work for Geography and History, particularly for locations relating to minerals, industries, dams, agriculture and national movements.
Don’t just learn by rote; understand the concepts. This is more important in Political Science and Economics, as questions are often application-based.
Revise important definitions, constitutional terms, economic concepts and geographical terms regularly for objective and short-answer type questions.
Practice assertion-reason, case study and source-based questions for developing analytical and interpretation skills. Provide answers in point format with proper headings, subheadings and keywords for better presentation and scoring potential.
Practise with full-length mock tests and previous-year question papers to enhance your time management skills within the 3-hour duration of the exam.

The first phase of the CBSE Class 10th 2026 LOC submission has ended on March 31, 2026. As per the notice, CBSE has set April 16 to April 20, 2026, as the main period for schools to submit the LOC and pay the exam fees .
