Sainik School, Tilaiya

The annual admission process for Classes 6 and 9 at Sainik Schools involves an online entrance examination application released between September and October. The available seats are categorised into two quotas: 67% allocated for candidates from the State/UT where the school is situated, and the remaining 33% for candidates from other States/UTs.

After the entrance exam, a centralised counselling process is initiated. Candidates who have appeared for the exam can book their slots for counselling through the official Sainik School website.

Following the counselling process, a school-wise merit list is released. Those shortlisted are required to undergo a medical examination conducted by the respective Sainik School.

Students who pass the medical examination are then listed in a final merit list. This list includes candidates who have successfully passed both the entrance exam and the medical examination.

Admission is provided to the selected students based on their ranking in the final merit list and the availability of seats in the desired class.
