The CBSE Class 10 exams for the Middle East regions were conducted from February 17 to February 28, 2026. However, due to the prevailing tense situation, exams scheduled between March 2 and March 11, 2026, were cancelled. Following this, the board has introduced a special assessment scheme for CBSE X result preparation, specifically for the Middle East regions. The CBSE Phase I exam results will now be calculated based on students’ performance in the exams that were successfully conducted, using a structured average-based method for incomplete cases.

Category of Students | Result Calculation Method |
|---|---|
Appeared in all exams | Based on actual performance |
Appeared in 4 exams | Average of the best 3 subjects |
Appeared in 3 exams | Average of the best 2 subjects |
Appeared in 2 exams | Average of 2 subjects |
2025 or earlier batch | Based on performance/chance to reappear |
For students who appeared in 4 subjects, CBSE will calculate the Class 10 exam result using a best-of-three approach. More details are mentioned in the pointers below:
Marks will be taken from the three best-performing subjects.
The average of these marks will be used for subjects whose exams were not conducted.
This ensures that students are not disadvantaged due to cancelled exams.
Students who appeared in 3 exams only will have their CBSE 10th results prepared based on the following criteria mentioned below:
The average of the best two subjects will be taken into consideration.
This average will be applied to the remaining subjects whose exams were cancelled.
The method of calculation focuses on maintaining fairness despite fewer exams being conducted.
There are only a limited number of students who appeared in only 2 subjects. Assessment criteria for such students is mentioned below:
Their result will be calculated using the average marks of the two subjects they appeared in.
These marks will be used for the remaining subjects. CBSE has clarified that such cases are very few.
In the official notification put out by the Central Board of Secondary Education, special provisions have been made for students registered in 2025 or earlier:
If such students appeared in 1 or 2 subjects, the results will be declared based on their performance.
If any exam is left, they will get an opportunity to appear in the CBSE 10th second Board exams. This criterion is aimed at ensuring that such students are not academically impacted.
