Ask your question related to KVPY

Hello Monika,

Unfortunately, you cannot take the KVPY SB (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) exam in your first year of college if you have taken a 3-year drop after 12th grade. The KVPY SB stream is specifically for students who are in the 1st year of an undergraduate program in basic sciences, but it typically requires that you join college immediately or shortly after completing 12th grade. The gap of 3 years might disqualify you from eligibility. It's best to check the latest KVPY guidelines for any updates or exceptions.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hello Monika,

I regret to inform you that, in your first year of college, you are not eligible to enroll in the KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) SB track.

Students enrolled in their first year of undergraduate (B.Sc., B.S., B.Stat., B.Math., Intern M.Sc., or M.S.) courses are the only ones eligible for the KVPY SB stream. Nonetheless, there are a few crucial things to remember:

Qualifications for the KVPY SB Stream-
1) You have to be enrolled in the first year of an undergraduate program leading to a B.Sc. or its equivalent.
2) In your 12th grade board exams, you should have received at least 60% (or 50% for SC, ST, and PWD) (or equivalent).
3) Science courses like physics, chemistry, biology, or mathematics should be included in the subject combination.

Timeline for Applications-
1) Only after being accepted into your undergraduate program may you apply for KVPY SB.
2) Usually, the KVPY exam is administered during your first year in college. Since the SB stream is only available to first-year students, you would not be eligible if you were in your second or third year.

Important points-
1) You should be able to apply for the KVPY SB stream during the application period if you are a first-year undergraduate student enrolled in a program like the B.Sc.
2) You must apply for the KVPY SX stream, which is intended for first-year undergraduates and students in the 12th grade, if you are in your second year of undergraduate study.
3) Date of the KVPY Exam: The KVPY exam normally takes place in November, and the application process usually commences in July.
4) The eligibility requirements may vary from year to year, so be sure to visit the official KVPY website for the most recent information on eligibility, revisions, and exam dates.

Hello,

Yes, you are eligible for KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) if you are in the first year of B.Sc. during the current academic year. KVPY eligibility criteria allow students enrolled in the first year of undergraduate courses in Basic Sciences such as B.Sc., B.S., B.Stat., B.Math., Integrated M.Sc., etc., to apply. Ensure you meet the academic criteria and prepare well for the aptitude test conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore to qualify for the fellowship.

Correct Answer: Tamil Nadu

Solution : The correct option is Tamil Nadu.

The first state in India that mandates rooftop rainwater harvesting systems for every home is Tamil Nadu. The act of collecting and storing rainwater as opposed to letting it run off is called rainwater harvesting. Rainwater is collected from a surface that resembles a roof and channelled to a tank, deep pit, or reservoir with percolation so that it seeps down and replenishes the groundwater.

Correct Answer: 3

Solution : The error lies in the third part of the sentence.

Explanation: The subject "consignment" is a singular noun, so the verb should also be singular. In this case, "is" is the correct singular verb form, making the sentence grammatically accurate. The incorrect form "are" is the plural verb form and it doesn't agree with the singular subject "consignment".

Therefore, the correct sentence should be: "A large consignment of books is expected."

The eligibility for NDA is that you have to either be appearing for twelfth grade in that year or have passed twelfth grade and that you should be in between 16.5 and 19.5 years of age to write this. As long as you qualify for both these criteria , you can write as many times as you want.

Yes, if a JEE aspirant decides to repeat their Class 12th and has never taken the KVPY exams before, they can become eligible for the KVPY-SX stream. The KVPY-SX stream is for students in Class 12, and since they are effectively repeating the year, they would meet the eligibility criteria for that stream. Hello Aspirant,

Yes, it is right that kvpy has been removed to get admission in iisc Bangalore but that doesn't mean that the cut offs will come down because it depends on many factors such as :-

  • Number of applicants applying for iisc Bangalore
  • Difficulty level of the examination in different years.
  • Previous year cut offs
  • Number of seats in the college

If all these factors are to be considered then it is expected that the cut off shall come down this year but again many things govern the cut offs.

Hello Aspirant,

Your positive score depends not only on the number of questions that you solve correctly but also depends on the number of questions that you have solved incorrectly during the exam. It can happen that, you might have solved some questions incorrectly which resulted in negative marking. Your friend might not have made those silly mistakes and that is why he ended up scoring more than what you have scored.

Marking Scheme In BITSAT: 3 marks will be given for every correct answer. 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect responses and no marks will be given for unattempted questions.

As you can see, the negative marking can affect your total positive score. You should avoid this mistake in future. Only attempt the questions for which you are 100% sure. Random guessing/ Silly mistakes should be avoided at all costs.

Moderation is done after the scores are released. Moderation is done for ranks and not for marks.

TIE BREAKING RULE IN BITSAT:

All candidates who appear in BITSAT 2022 and interested in admission requires to submit Admission application form with 12th marks and preferences to different degree programs offered at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. The authorities will prepare a merit list of such candidates on the basis of marks secured by the candidates in BITSAT 2022. If two or more candidates will obtain the same marks as per the BITSAT result then the authorities will use the following tie-breaking rule.

  • In case of a tie, candidates with higher scores in Mathematics/Biology will be given higher rank.
  • If a tie still persists, candidates with higher scores in Physics will be given higher rank.
  • If a tie still persists, candidates with higher scores in Chemistry will be given higher rank.
  • If a tie still persists, PCB/PCM marks obtained in Class 12th will be considered to resolve the tie.

I hope your query is resolved.
