The calculation of marks will be based on the following alternative scheme for CBSE Class 12 results 2026:

Evaluation for Students Appeared in all exams

For the students who appeared in all the registered subjects, their results will be declared based on their performance in the exams.

    Guidelines for Compartmental Candidates

Students registered under the ‘Compartmental category’ from 2025 or earlier who appeared for only one subject will have their result based on the performance of that subject. In case the exam has not been conducted, the students can appear in the supplementary exams in July 2026.

Assessment for Subjects with 70 or 80 marks

For subjects where maximum theory marks are 80 or 70, schools will provide the performance of the students for quarterly, half-yearly and pre-board exams to the board. The highest obtained marks will be calculated for the final result.

Assessment for Students with 30, 50 or 60 marks

For skill-based subjects or lower theory subjects with 30, 50 or 60 marks, the result will be based on the marks secured in the final pre-board examination. In any case, if the student was absent for the pre-board exam, then marks from previous exams will be taken into account for calculating the result.

    Practical and Internal Assessment

The board has also declared that the marks for Internal and practical assessments will remain the same as per the records uploaded by the schools.

CBSE Class 12 Results 2026 Important Dates for Schools

The internal assessment, practical and internal exam marks for CBSE Class 12th will be uploaded by the schools within the given schedule for the timely declaration of the CBSE Class 12th result. Conduct of Compartment Examination and Revaluation for CBSE Class 12

After the final declaration of the results, the students who will not be able to qualify for the exam can reappear for the compartmental exam. The compartmental exam will be held in July 2026 for the students who will not achieve CBSE passing marks in any subject.

Apart from that, if the students are not satisfied with their marks, they can apply for the re-evaluation. Students can apply for the re-evaluation of the subjects for which the exam has been conducted.
