Ravi Pillai Scholarship 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Students must follow the eligibility criteria mentioned below to fill out the Ravi Pillai Scholarship application form 2026.

• The student must be of Kerala origin and studying in a recognised institution in India.

• The student’s family income should not be more than 2.5 lakhs per annum.

• Students studying outside Kerala through All India competitive examinations can also apply if they meet the eligibility criteria.

• Students from Govt/Aided/Private Schools (State/CBSE/ICSE) in Kerala or colleges recognised by Universities in Kerala/UGC recognised deemed universities are eligible for this scholarship.

• Students studying in open/distance/correspondence, private or part-time PG programmes are not eligible for the scholarship.

• Students can get the scholarship only once in their academic career.

• A maximum of two children from a family can get the benefit of this scholarship.

• If a student has already received a scholarship of Rs 50,000 or more from another source are not eligible for the scholarship.

• Incomplete applications will be rejected.

The selection of the students is based on marks obtained in the qualifying exams, and the minimum marks vary according to the study level.

• Higher Secondary Scholarship: Students studying in Plus One (Class 11) can apply for this scholarship if they have secured A+ in all SSLC subjects for the State syllabus exam or more than 90% in the CBSE/ICSE Class 10 exam.

• Degree Scholarship: Students studying in 1st and 2nd year UG are eligible for the benefit if they have secured at least 85% marks in the State Board or CBSE Board or ISC examination.

• PG Scholarship: Students studying in the second year of PG can apply if they have secured 80% in Science or 75% in Arts, Commerce, Law, Management, Medical and Technical streams in their degree examination.

Ravi Pillai Scholarship 2026 Quota

The Ravi Pillai Scholarship also provides specific quotas for eligible candidates applying for the scholarship.

• NRK quota: 20% of seats are reserved for eligible children of Non-Resident Keralites. A valid NORKA Pravasi ID is required to apply for the scholarship.

• Differently-abled quota: 5% of seats are reserved for differently-abled students. A disability certificate issued by the Medical Board is required. If seats remain unfulfilled under this quota, it may be transferred to the general category.

The Ravi Pillai Scholarship selection list is prepared primarily based on merit. Students get a rank according to their marks in the exam.
