    The JNV selection test can only be taken by eligible students. The NVS Class 9 admission was released by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. The Navodaya class 9 exam was held on February 7, 2026, to admit students to 650 JNVs located across 27 States and 8 UTs in India.     JNVST Class 9 Eligibility Criteria 2026

    Before applying for Navodaya Vidyalaya admission in class 9, students must understand the criteria they must meet to be eligible for class 9. They can only apply if they meet the qualifying requirements listed below.

    • Applicants must pass the 8th class exam from a recognised/government board in order to be considered for the JNVST 9th admission test 2026.
    • Students must reside & study in the same district where JNV is functioning and admission is sought.
    • Students taking the test must complete Class 8 from a Govt./Govt. Recognised school during the academic year 2026.
    • Students must have been born between May 1, 2011 and July 31, 2013 (both days included) to be eligible for the exam. For students in the reserved category, there is no age relaxation.
    • Only Indian Nationals who are studying in India are eligible to apply.
    • Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti reserves the right to refer any student to a medical board for verification of their age in case of any doubt regarding the JNV class 9 age limit.
    • Students belonging to the SC and ST categories must present a caste certificate if they are selected. It is necessary to produce and submit these documents to the Principal of the respective JNV.

    JNVST Class 9 Selection Process

    • Two important criteria are taken into account when selecting a student: the student's performance and the supporting documentation.
    • The details of the exam's marks will not be disclosed by the exam authorities.
    • There is no option for re-checking or re-totalling either.
    • Students will only be admitted to Navodaya Vidyalayas for which they will take the Navodaya 9th class entrance exam.
    • In the event of a disagreement, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti's (NVS) decision will be considered final.

    Students have to verify their documentation during the round of verification after the declaration of the JNVST Result.

    • Pass the certificate of the VIII class with the mark sheets
    • Medical Certificate for Physically Disabled Students

    • Relevant Certificate for Rural Candidates
