NMMS Assam has set certain eligibility criteria for the class 8th scholarship. View the NMMS eligibility criteria here.
Class: Only students enrolled in Class-VIII at government schools, local Body schools, or government-aided schools are eligible for the NMMS examination.
Marks: These students must have achieved a minimum of 55% or equivalent grade in their Class VII exams. SC/ST students are eligible with a score of 5% lower. To continue receiving the scholarship, awardees must maintain a minimum of 55% marks in Class IX and XI and 60% marks in Class X. This requirement can be lowered by 5% for SC/ST candidates in higher classes.
Family Income: Scholarships are available to exceptionally talented or high-achieving students whose parents' annual income does not exceed Rs. 3,50,000/-.
Types of School: Students currently enrolled as regular students in classes IX, X, XI, and XII at Government, Government-aided, and local body schools for a maximum duration of four years.
NMMS Scholarship is not available to the following category of students -
This scholarship exam is open to students from all backgrounds, including those studying in private schools.
However, students enrolled in "Kendriya Vidyalaya" and "Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas" are not eligible for this scholarship.
Furthermore, students attending residential schools operated by state government institutions, which offer comprehensive support such as housing, meals, and education, as well as those studying in private schools, are also not qualified for this scholarship under the current scheme.
To be considered for the NMMS Assam Scholarship, interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must complete and submit their applications online via the official NMMS Assam Scholarship Portal. The following are the necessary steps that applicants must adhere to in order to successfully apply for the scholarship.

Click on the "Online Application Form" and complete the registration process by clicking "Register Now".
In the next stage, fill in the personal and educational details and upload the necessary documents.
After completing all these steps, candidates must pay the application fee as per their category.
At the end, submit the form and download it for future reference.

Candidates are required to submit an examination fee as part of their online application process. The fee amount may vary depending on the candidate's reservation category. Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam released the NMMS admit card on November 3, 2023. Students can download their NMMS exam Admit Card online from the 'Bidyarthi' Android App or via the official website, madhyamik.assam.gov.in. They need to use their login credentials to get the NMMS 2023-24 admit card. It is mandatory for students to carry the NMMS Assam admit card 2024 to the examination center, as without it they will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.
NMMS Assam has two papers: Mental Ability Test (MAT) and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The students are required to achieve a minimum of 40% aggregate marks on both the MAT and SAT exams in order to pass. This requirement applies to all students, with a reduced percentage of 32% for those belonging to SC/ST communities.

The NMMS Scholarships are granted to exceptionally talented or academically accomplished students enrolled as regular students in grades nine through twelve at Government, Government-aided, and local body schools whose parental income does not exceed Rs. 3,50,000/- per annum.

On February 28, 2024, the NMMS Tamil Nadu results were disclosed. Previously, the results for the NMMS exams in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra for the year 2023-24 were declared. Meanwhile, the NMMS results for other states are scheduled to be announced by the authorities or State Councils of Educational Research and Training (SCERTs) in March 2024. The candidates have to be enrolled in government-run, local government, or government-aided educational institutions. The candidate must receive at least 60% on the class 10 board exam in order to be considered for scholarship continuation in higher secondary school.
