The Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) Class 9 result 2026 has been released on April 28, 2026, by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti for admission into Class 9 vacant seats in Navodaya schools. Students can access the JNVST 9th Class result link on: navodaya.gov.in. The NVS Class 9 entrance exam was conducted on February 7, 2026. Last year, the NVS result was declared around March 25, 2025. Along with the result, the Samiti has also released the JNVST Class 9 selection list. The JNVST 9th result is released in the form of an online scorecard accessible through login, along with a PDF merit list prepared region-wise or district-wise. The selection process is based on merit and is followed by document verification. Students can get the direct JNVST 9th Class result 2026 link in the above. The JNVST result is also made available offline at the District Magistrate’s office and on the notice board of the respective JNV school. Students who are selected must complete the required admission formalities as the JNVST Class 9 results are out.

Students can download their NVS login result and JNVST selection list by following these steps. We have also provided the direct JNVST Class 9 result link and selection list PDF here on this page.
Go to the NVS official portal at navodaya.gov.in.
Look for the pop-up link or the "Admission" tab labelled "Click here to view the result for Class IX Lateral Entry Selection Test 2026."
Students will need their registration number and date of birth as printed on the JNVST admit card.
Alternatively, students can download the Region-wise PDF Merit List. This list contains the roll numbers of candidates provisionally selected for the specific JNV in your district.

Provisional NVS admission: Selection in the written test is "provisional." The final seat is confirmed only after the verification of documents (including residence, category, and Class 8 marksheet) at the respective Vidyalaya.
Waiting List: NVS does not release a second merit list immediately. However, if a selected student does not take admission or is found ineligible, the vacant seat is offered to the next candidate on the JNVST waiting list.
No Re-evaluation: There is no provision for re-checking or JNVST re-evaluation of the answer sheets.
If the student's name appears on the selection list, keep the following ready for the school visit:
Class 8 Marksheet/Certificate from a Government or Government-recognised school.
Date of Birth Certificate.
Residence Certificate (District-specific).
Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Divyang, if applicable).
Aadhaar Card of the student.

JNVST cut-offs vary by district based on the number of vacant seats. However, general trends for the 100-mark paper (Maths, Science, English, Hindi) are:
General Category: 80-85+
OBC Category: 75-80
SC/ST Category: 65-70
Rural students have a slightly lower NVS cut-off than urban students due to the reservation policy.
NVS does not always publish a waiting list publicly. However, if a selected student fails to submit documents or chooses not to join, the seat is offered to the next highest scorer in that specific category/district. The school will contact waiting-list candidates directly via phone or post.
No, the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti clearly states that there is no provision for re-checking or re-evaluation of the answer scripts. The JNVST Class 9 results declared on the portal are final.
