Candidate’s Photograph Guidelines for Sainik School Entrance Exam 2025-26

  • The candidate’s passport-size photograph size should be between 10kb to 200kb in JPG format.

  • Spectacles are not allowed unless they are being used regularly.

  • Sainik School application forms without photographs will be rejected.

  • The student’s photograph should be taken on or after July 1, 2023, indicating the candidate’s name along with the date on which the photograph is taken.

  • Photographs should not be with goggles or caps. The focus should be on the face (ears visible and 80% face coverage on a white background).

  • Computer-generated photographs are not accepted.

  • Candidates should not attest the photograph. However, they are advised to keep at least 6-8 passport-size photographs in colour with a white background.

  • Applications with unclear photos shall be rejected.

  • The student’s candidature will be cancelled in case the student has uploaded someone else’s photograph and an unrelated image. Criminal action will be initiated against the candidate. He/she will be considered as using UFM (Unfair Means).

  • If the uploaded photograph is found to be computer-generated, fabricated or hand-made, the candidate’s application will be rejected.

Candidate’s Signature Guidelines for Sainik School Entrance Exam 2025-26

  • The candidate must use his/her full signature on a white paper in running handwriting. The signature should not be in capital letters. Candidates must use a black ink pen to do a signature and scan it for uploading online.

  • The Sainik School application forms will be rejected if the candidate fails to upload the signature.

  • If the candidate uses the signature of the others and uploads it, then the student’s candidature will be cancelled and criminal action shall be initiated against the candidate as per the country’s laws.

  • The candidate’s signature scanned copy file size should be between 4kb to 30kb in JPG format.

Candidate’s left-hand thumb impression Guidelines

Candidate must use blue ink to affix his/her left-hand thumb impression on white paper and scan it for uploading online. The thumb impression scanned copy must be between 10kb to 50kb and in JPG format. If the candidate’s thumb impression on the scanned copy is unclear in the online form, the application will be rejected. Students must upload the proper and clear images.

Guidelines for Uploading of other certificates:

  • Candidates must scan and upload all the other certificates or documents like caste, domicile, date of birth, or service certificates with a file size between 50kb to 300kb.

  • If the domicile certificate is not available, students can use their parent’s certificate in the relevant field.

  • Successful candidates’ proof of domicile is to be submitted during the Sainik school admission.

  • The state government/union territory or the concerned authority should issue the domicile or residence certificate to the candidate bearing the resident of the state or union territory and must be issued to the concerned person.

  • Candidates can upload category certificates, if applicable.

  • Students studying in newly approved Sainik Schools are required to upload their school certificate of their study.

What to do with the AISSEE Application Confirmation Page?

Candidates need to retain the hard copy of the confirmation page along with the fee submission proof for future reference. They should not submit the confirmation page to the NTA.

Documents Required for Attending Sainik School Entrance Exam 2025-26 Class 6 Class 9

  • Admit card (with Self Declaration) with passport-size photograph and thumb impression affixed on it

  • Valid and original Photo ID proof

  • Passport-size photograph for affixing on the attendance sheet

What if I am unable to produce documents after the exam?

The NTA verifies the original and copy of the documents required for Sainik School admission 2025 along with the student’s candidature at various stages. The verification will be done for the exam process against the candidate’s details during the online application. If the candidate is unable to produce the requisite documents as per the details in the registration form or if he/she fails to produce the required documents, the candidature of the student will be rejected. Students are advised to be careful and maintain secrecy during the Sainik School admission process. They must not share their credentials like application number and password with other unauthorised persons.

For Admission to Class 6

  • The candidate must be between 10 and 12 years of age as of March 31, 2025, for Sainik school admission to class VI, i.e., he/she should be born between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2015, (both days inclusive) for admission for the academic year 2025-26.
  • The Sainik school admissions are open for Class VI students. Age criteria for girls are the same as for boys.

For Admission to Class 9

  • The candidate taking the Sainik School admission 2025 for the academic year 2025-26 should be between 13 and 15 years of age as of March 31, 2025, i.e., he should have been born between April 1, 2010, and March 31, 2012 (both days inclusive).
  • Candidate should have passed the class 8 exam from a recognised school during the admission time.
  • Sainik School admission is not open for girls for class IX.
