The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the CBSE private candidate form for 2027 for Class 10th and 12th on October 8, 2026. Those who failed to qualify the CBSE 10th or CBSE 12th exam and whose results were declared as fail or essential repeat can appear again as private candidates. For the CBSE private candidate exam, students can apply online till October 23, 2026, without any late fine.

Students who are going to appear in the CBSE Board exam as private candidates can apply online from the official website at cbse.gov.in/newsite/private. After the students complete the CBSE 10th and 12th private candidate registration 2027, they can appear in the practical and theory exams at their allotted exam centres. Like regular candidates, the CBSE private exam 2027 will be held in February 2027. Last year, the CBSE 2027 private candidate forms were made available from September 9, 2026.

Click on the ‘Main Website’ and select the ‘Private Candidates’ section.
Locate the application form link which reads ‘Submission of Examination Form by Private Candidates for Class X/XII Exam 2027’
Keep previous year information ready before applying, like the admit card and provisional marksheet for the main examination.
Fill in the details, and after submitting, students will get an application number.
Upload the scanned photograph and signature.
Pay the application fee online before the last date to avoid a late fee.
