    CBSE Private Candidate Form 2026 Release Date

    The CBSE Private application form was released on September 9, 2025, and the candidates were able to submit the application form and pay the application fees till September 30, 2025. The application process for the private examination was held from September 9 to September 30, 2025 (without late fees).     Who can fill the CBSE Private Candidate Form 2026?

    The students must meet the eligibility criteria to appear in the CBSE private exam 2026 for Class 10th and Class 12th. Here, we have discussed the eligibility criteria for the full subjects, performance improvement, compartment, and additional subjects.

    Full Subjects (5/6 Subjects)

    • For students whose results have been declared as Essential Repeat in 2025.
    • Students whose results have been declared as Fail/Essential Repeat in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
    • Students who were not able to appear for the examination due to medical reasons, except for a shortage of attendance at the examination in 2025.
    • Candidates who have been placed in a compartment in two subjects may opt for appearing in 5/6/7 subjects in which he/she appeared in the 2025 board exams. Such a candidate should select his/her category as "Essential Repeat" while applying online.

    Compartment

    Students who have been placed in a Compartment in the board exam can apply only in the subject in which he/she has been placed in the Compartment. Such students should select their category as a compartment while applying online.

    Improvement of Performance

    Students who have passed the examination in 2025 can apply to improve their performance in one or more subjects, provided they have appeared in the same subjects in the examination held in 2025.

    Additional Subject

    Students who have passed the board examination can apply for additional subjects from the list of subjects enclosed within two years of passing the examination (Students who have passed in 2024 and 2025 are eligible to apply).

    Once the CBSE private exam application form 2026 is released on the official website, students who are eligible will have to fill out the application form. To submit the application form, students can follow the steps mentioned below.

    • Students will have to visit the official website of CBSE, @cbse.gov.in.
    • On the homepage, navigate to the ‘Latest’ section and locate the ‘Submission of Examination Form by Private Candidates for Class X/XII Exam 2026’/.
    • Click on the link and start filling out the application form with all the relevant information asked.
    • Make sure to verify all the information and upload the required documents, including recent passport-size photographs and a signature.
    • Next, pay the application fees via the payment option mentioned on the screen.
