Action Required for the Submission of the LOC by the School

From the academic year 2025-26, the board will conduct the CBSE 10th exam twice a year. For the CBSE 2nd phase examination, the board will open the window for LOC for 5 days after the declaration of the first phase result. Below, we have explained all the actions that the schools must take in this regard.

Part 1: For the first time in LOC 2025-26

  • Schools must ensure that the LOC of all the candidates appearing for the board examination is submitted accordingly on time.
  • The board has decided to link the APAAR ID of candidates for both 10th and 12th LOC data.
APAAR in Indian schools: On January 24, 2025, the board had already communicated the need for the implementation of APAAR ID for students of CBSE-affiliated schools in India. Schools will be able to fill out the LOC for all the students who have an APAAR ID.
APAAR in CBSE schools situated abroad: CBSE schools abroad are exempted from APAAR because of administrative reasons and laws of the respective countries.

Part 2: Preparatory action to be taken by the school

Schools must be ready with students' information, such as the candidate's name, father's name, guardian's name, date of birth, APAAR ID, correct subject code and combination, and category applying in (i.e., FS/improvement/compartment)

Part 3: Eligibility criteria of candidates for the LOC

Schools must ensure that candidates are eligible for the LOC.

  • Candidates sponsored are their own regular and bonafide students only.
  • No bonafide student's name is left unsponsored.
  • Students are not from any unauthorised/unaffiliated school.
  • Students are regularly attending classes in the school and fulfilling the minimum attendance norms as per the Examination Bye-laws of the Board.
  • Students are not registered with any other School Education Board in addition to CBSE.
  • The students are eligible to appear in the Board's Examinations for classes X and XII as per the provisions of the Examination Bye-laws.
  • In the case of students of Class-XII, it is essential to confirm that they have passed their Class-X examination from a recognised School Education Board only in the academic year 2024.

Part 4: Action to be taken while filling LOC

  • Schools have to register themselves and enter the information on the OASIS portal regarding student details, teacher information, statutory compliance certificates, etc.

  • Once the schools register, they need to submit the student data on the HPE portal. The registration number will be generated. Schools need to keep that safe for the LOC submission time.

  • They can now submit the CBSE list of candidates.

Hello Pruthvi,

Taking a drop year to reappear for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a well-defined process. As a repeater, you are fully eligible to take the exam again to improve your score and secure a better rank for admissions.

The main procedure involves submitting a new application for the KCET through the official Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website when registrations open for the next academic session. You must pay the required application fee and complete all formalities just like any other candidate. A significant advantage for you is that you do not need to retake your 12th board exams. Your previously secured board marks in the qualifying subjects will be used again. Your new KCET rank will be calculated by combining these existing board marks with your new score from the KCET exam. Therefore, your entire focus during this year should be on preparing thoroughly for the KCET to achieve a higher score.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

Yes, you can switch from Science in Karnataka State Board to Commerce in CBSE for 12th. You will need a Transfer Certificate from your current school and meet the CBSE school’s admission requirements. Since you haven’t studied Commerce subjects like Accountancy, Economics, and Business Studies, you may need to catch up before or during 12th. Not all CBSE schools accept direct admission to 12th from another board, so some may ask you to join Class 11 first. Make sure to check the school’s rules and plan your subject preparation.
