The NVS determines the Navodaya exam centres for the JNVST and will officially announce the centre details on the admit card. Candidates must appear for the test only at the JNV examination centre mentioned on their admit card. NVS admit cards specifying the exam centre will be released in December 2025 for Phase 1 and around April 2026 for Phase 2. The NVS exam centre for a candidate is generally located in the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) of the concerned district or another centre specifically allotted by NVS.

Important Dates for Navodaya Exam Centre 2026

The NVS Class 6 admission test for phase 1 will be held on December 13, 2025, while phase 2 is scheduled for April 11 2026.

Important Instructions for NVS Examination Centre

  • All candidates are strictly required to appear for the selection test only at the centre specified on their NVS admit card.

  • Appearing at an unauthorised Navodaya centre or requesting a change of centre is prohibited.

  • The NVS admit card is mandatory for entry and can be downloaded from the online application portal or the NVS website (www.navodaya.gov.in).

  • Entry to the test is conditional upon presenting either the candidate's Aadhaar card or the parent's Government-approved residence certificate uploaded during the application.

  • Invigilators will verify the candidate's identity against the photo on the Navodaya school admit card; any mismatch must be reported immediately to the Principal of the concerned JNV.

Hello,

Navodaya Vidyalaya admission for Class 9 (session 2025-26) is through the Lateral Entry Selection Test (LEST) . The online application form was available from July 30, 2025 to October 21, 2025 on the official website of NVS.

There is no application fee . Students studying in Class 8 during 2025-26 in a recognised school and belonging to the district where the JNV is located are eligible to apply.

The selection test will be held on 7th February 2026 . The exam will be of 2 hours 30 minutes duration with questions from English, Hindi, Mathematics and Science for a total of 100 marks.
