IOQM 2025 Syllabus

The IOQM Mathematical Olympiad covers important concepts from the Mathematics subject, except for Calculus. There are mainly five chapters included in the IOQM syllabus 2025. Candidates must ensure that they have a comprehensive understanding of the Mathematical topics included in the IOQM 2025 syllabus. IOQM Syllabus 2025 - Algebra

• Inequalities, Progressions (A.P., G.P., H.P.),
• Theory of indices,
• System of linear equations,
• Theory of equations,
• Binomial theorem and properties of binomial coefficients,
• Complex Numbers,
• Polynomials in one and two variables,
• Functional equations,
• Sequences.

IOQM Syllabus 2025 - Plane Geometry

• Triangles,
• Quadrilaterals, Circles and their properties;
• Standard Euclidean constructions;
• Concurrency and collinearity (Theorems of Ceva and Menelaus);
• Basic trigonometric identities,
• Compound angles, multiple and submultiple angles, general solutions, sine rule, cosine rule,
• Properties of triangles and polygons,
• Coordinate Geometry (straight line, circle, conics,3-D geometry),
• Vectors.

IOQM 2025 Syllabus - Combinatorics

• Basic enumeration,
• Pigeonhole principle and its applications,
• Recursion,
• Elementary graph theory.

• Divisibility Theory in the Integers (The Division Algorithm,

• The Greatest Common Divisor,

• The Euclidean Algorithm,

• The Diophantine Equation ax + by = c) ,

• Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic,

• Basic properties of congruence,

• Linear congruences,

• Chinese Remainder Theorem,

• Fermat’s Little Theorem,

• Wilson’s Theorem,

• Euler’s Phi function and Euler’s generalisation of Fermat’s Theorem,

• Pythagorean triples (definition and properties),

• Diophantine equations.

How to Download the IOQM Syllabus 2025 Online?

Students can follow the steps below to learn more about how to access and download the IOQM 2025 syllabus online from the official website.

• Step 1: Visit the official website at olympiads.hbcse.tifr.res.in.

• Step 2: Click on the “How To Prepare” tab on the homepage.

• Step 3: Select the “Syllabus” from the drop-down menu and click on the “Mathematical Olympiad” option on the screen.

• Step 4: The IOQM 2025 syllabus will be displayed on the screen.

• Step 5: Download, take a printout, and save it for future reference to prepare for the Mathematics Olympiad.
