The CBSE Class 10 Half Yearly examination generally follows the question paper designed for the official CBSE Class 10 Board exam. However, schools may make any changes to the paper according to the syllabus completed and allotted for the Half Yearly examination.

Every subject has 2 sections - Theory Marks and Internal Assessment. The internal assessment mark is 20, which is given during the internal tests by the school. The other 80 marks are for the theory paper, and the standard distribution of the theory paper is as follows:
