    The Central Board of Secondary Education uses the CBSE OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) sheet for the assessment of the Class X and XII examinations. Students appearing for the CBSE 10th and CBSE 12th board examinations must have complete knowledge about the CBSE OMR sheet. They must enter all details correctly in the CBSE OMR sheet 2026 and darken the respective circles. The board is conducting the CBSE 10th exams from February 17 to March 11, 2026, and CBSE 12th exams from February 17 to April 10, 2026.

    Students appearing for the CBSE board examination must follow all instructions regarding the CBSE OMR sheet. They must know how to fill out the OMR sheet in detail. Check out the details below to learn more about how to fill in the CBSE 2026 OMR sheet.

    • After receiving the OMR sheet from the invigilator, candidates must enter the details like the subject and its code, the day and date of the respective exam, and the question paper code, followed by the set number.

    • Students can find the question paper code in the respective subject question paper.

    • Next, they will have to fill in the details like the candidate's name in capital letters, roll number, subject code, centre number, school code, and father's name.

    • After entering all the required details in the CBSE OMR sheet 2026, candidates must sign in the space provided.

    • He/she must write “I confirm that all particulars given above are correct” in the space provided.

    • Candidates should only use a blue pen to fill out the OMR sheet. They must avoid using a pencil or a black pen; otherwise, it is considered unfair means in the CBSE board exam.

    • Space to answer 60 questions irrespective of the total number of questions of any subject.

    • Students should use maximum circles as per the total number of questions given in the question paper to give responses in sequence.

    • Answers provided after the maximum number of questions will not be evaluated.

    • Candidates must give a response to the question in the 4 circles provided, i.e., a, b, c, and d, if they are confident enough. They must darken the circle with a blue pen.

    • Students will have to write the correct option in the box provided next to the options in the same row.

    • If a candidate does not attempt any question, they must darken the circle given after the box where the question number is mentioned.

    • If students are confident about the response, they must darken the circle as well as write the option in the box given next to the options.

    • Response written in the box will be considered as the final.

    • If the circle is marked and the box is empty, it will be considered as the question has not been attempted. That particular question will not be evaluated.

    Mistakes to Avoid While Filling the CBSE OMR Sheet

    Candidates must be aware of this while filling out the OMR sheet. Check out the points below to avoid the common mistakes.

    • Make sure you fill in the correct name, roll number, and subject code and darken the respective circles before submitting the sheet.

    • Do not use a black pen, gel pen, or pencil while filling out the CBSE OMR sheet 2026. Always use a blue pen as prescribed in the CBSE admit card and guidelines.

    • If any student makes a mistake on the CBSE 2026 OMR sheet front page, their copy will be rejected. They can be declared as failed.

    • Do not mark two answers for one question. The OMR sheets will be machine-scanned, and marking multiple circles will lead to rejection.
