Schools conduct the CBSE Class 10 mid-term/half-yearly exams internally in September- October 2026. There is no single official board paper for CBSE 10th mid-terms. However, schools follow the same CBSE 10th exam pattern as the final exams, which includes MCQs, assertion-reasoning, short answers, long answers, and case-based questions. These half-yearly exams cover around the first 50-60% of the CBSE Class 10 syllabus. The board releases the annual CBSE sample paper online. Students can select those questions which are asked in CBSE Class 10 mid-term exams and prepare for the exams.

Give Priority to NCERT Textbooks: Students should thoroughly study and revise all chapters in the NCERT textbooks, as many questions are based on the NCERT syllabus.
Create a study plan: Prepare a study plan for each subject and divide the time between the subjects.
Practise previous years' papers: Solve previous years' CBSE question papers, half-yearly papers, and CBSE 10th sample papers. These help students know the exam pattern, question types, and marking scheme.
Strengthen weak topics: Find the topics which students feel are tough and practice that part daily.
Revise smartly: Prepare short notes, important formulas, mind maps, and flowcharts to revise more quickly. These short notes will help candidates prepare before the exam in less time.
