It is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and managed by Delhi Public School Society. “The school aspires to provide ethical direction and stimulus to the huge reservoir of energy within the institution's portals, allowing it to carve out creative and inspired individuals who would possess, in addition to academic distinction, the inner illumination required to dispel the world's darkness,” says the school’s website. DPS Kathua is currently being led by principal Archana Sharma.

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Delhi Public School, Kathua, students organised a cleanliness drive under the auspices of 4 Jammu and Kashmir Bn NCC Jammu. Cadets under the direction of ANO Mr. Jagmohan took part enthusiastically in the cleanup drive.
